This is the second book in Blake Crouch's Wayward Pines series, and I think I liked it even more than the first.
There's a big reveal at the end of the first book, and I didn't think the story could get any more chilling. By now Ethan Burke knows everything, and has been made the sheriff of Wayward Pines, Idaho - and so takes some responsibility for the virtual prison the town has become.
As he uncovers more of the underlying workings of the town, we get a clearer picture of the motivations and insanity of the evil genius who put the whole series of events in motion.
