Welcome to the Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on May 13th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

I am loving this book so far, (especially after the disaster that was Hafs' and my buddy read lol). I love how character driven it is, how we're getting to know Sam, Sadie and Marx. (view spoiler)[ I'm also interested to see how they proceed with the games and what impact it has on their relationships moving forward as it seems like Sadie and Sam had another falling why and I wonder why (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I'm furious that all the men (except Marx at this point) seem to put Sadie on the back burner when she was the one who programmed the games!

I love the story of how Sadie thought of Both Sides, how she draws from her experiences. Oh I'm so glad Sadie is leaving Dov.

The story about Sam's mum is so sad :(
and the revelation Sadie made with Dead Sea and wondering if Sam knew about Dov. She must have felt betrayed, probably blaming Sam for her relationship with Dov omg that last sentence was so powerful "I still have a few things I need to unpack."

(view spoiler)[ Sam's behaviour in Part 6 was immature, but I can see how he can be heartbroken. Especially when his two best friends never bothered to tell him, although he had already figured it out so it must hurt.
I guess Sadie has always been sore about the fact that she got less credit for Ichigo. And I think she felt like her relationship with Dov was forced on her. She was an adult and she put herself in that situation, but as a young adult at that time, she must have felt like she had no choice. There is really so much to unpack with this.

I felt for Marx in VII. I really like Marx, he's been a good friend and despite his tendency to be dating around etc in college, I think that mainly changed after Zoe. I thought this chapter was cleverly done as well, it was different from the other chapters and captured the moment.

I've only just gotten to the end of part 2 and all I can say is I don't like Sadie :( (I don't usually like character driven books so this is new to me and I feel like I hate all the characters idk)

IX was just a bore. I mean I like the idea but the way it was done, it just didn't feel realistic for a game. At this point, I feel like the story has been drawn out for way too long. We should have stopped at VIII.

@Hafs after Land of Honey and Milk I was really hoping for this book to be a good one hahha and I'm leaving for vacation tmr so trying to read a lot before then

ahhh yeah I can see why you wouldn't like the characters especially if you don't usually like character-driven books. Sadie comes across as entitled most times and Sam's stubbornness to keep things to himself can be really infuriating. Marx was probably my favourite character.

I still don't care much for the characters and so I don't care about the story either I will fight the urge to DNF and get it done today but I definitely souldn't care less about the video games and whatever else they have going lol

yeah, once you don't care for the characters you wouldn't care for the story! don't force yourself to finish it if you're not interested in the story anymore.

Unfortunately I just finished it (FINALLY) I hate being in the minority but I definitely didn't enjoy this not even remotely and Marx didn't deserve that it was so unnecessary (I agree that the story should've ended on part VIII)

well done for making it through. sorry it was another book you didn't enjoy, I enjoyed it for the most part except the last few chapters. It definitely didn't have much of a plot and was just character driven.
