Twelve Secrets (Ben Harper, #1) by Robert Gold

Twelve Secrets, by Robert Gold

"A SMALL TOWN. A SHOCKING CRIME.
YOU'LL SUSPECT EVERY CHARACTER. BUT YOU'LL NEVER GUESS THE ENDING.

Ben Harper's life changed for ever the day his older brother Nick was murdered by two classmates. It was a crime that shocked the nation and catapulted Ben's family and their idyllic hometown, Haddley, into the spotlight.

Twenty years on, Ben is one of the best investigative journalists in the country and settled back in Haddley, thanks to the support of its close-knit community. But then a fresh murder case shines new light on his brother's death and throws suspicion on those closest to him.

Ben is about to discover that in Haddley no one is as they seem. Everyone has something to hide.

And someone will do anything to keep the truth buried . . ."

Icewineanne | 41 comments Oops - just noticed that it’s in German. No English copies are available. It looks like it hasn’t been released over here yet 🤷‍♀️

Pat Cody | 32 comments Thanks, Icewine, for looking. I was disappointed at the Kindle being a foreign language edition. I just don't read hard-copy books since I got a Kindle, as my usual reading time is end-of-day in bed. Yes, this is a bad habit, as mysteries often keep me reading far too late.

I actually feel rather incensed at books not being available in Kindle editions now! How quickly we become spoiled to conveniences.

Icewineanne | 41 comments Pat, it’s amazing to think that back when I grew up we had none of these software miracles. And now I can’t live without them 🤯

Pat Cody | 32 comments I feel the same way, Icewine. While I gladly use "antique" reference books for research, when I read for pleasure, I want the convenience of my Kindle. It could be said that conveniences are making us lazy, but I prefer to think it makes it possible for us to accomplish more in less time, with more convenience.
