Noa (semi ia) ˚୨୧ | 705 comments My hair is always greasy at the back and no matter how many times I wash it it still comes back. I've started washing it only once or twice a week because I heard that might be the problem, but it's still oily!!!! Does anybody have tips?

Storm The Gremlin Child If you use conditioner only put it at your roots. But showering more does help with the grease

iljen ౨ৎ | 137 comments i’m not really good at haircare but maybe trying to find a shampoo that specializes with oily hair will help? 💕

Jennifer Vollhoffer | 267 comments You might want to try a salicylic hair treatment. It reduces oil buildup in the scalp. The inkey list has one I think it’s pretty affordable.

alyssa | 141 comments make sure you’re like really scrubbing well, try using a scalp massager to spread the shampoo maybe? and it also could be the shampoo you use, that was an issue for me before. try a clarifying shampoo!!

Noa (semi ia) ˚୨୧ | 705 comments @ Alyssa I don't have a scalp massager but I think I might get one

Lia | 51 comments I think maybe u should shampoo twice, if it's too oily one time will get rid of most of it but some will remain on the hair... you'll see it'll make more bubbles the second time (and make sure you're using the shampoo only at the root and let it fall into the rest of your hair, don't directly shampoo the ends because it will dry them out)

Maia | 428 comments this happens to me too and my hairs dyed so it always looks so much worse when my roots are growing in😭😭

anastasia ♥ hiraeth | 126 comments Maybe do a hair analysis the next time you're at the salon or make a specific appointment for it

Using the wrong shampoo and conditioner can make your hair greasy. Also, never apply conditioner on the scalp, always in the lengths of your hair, and shampoo ONLY on your scalp.

Molly | 190 comments Okay glad to hear i'm not the only one! I use a scalp massager, shampoo twice, and rinse it our forever but there will still be grease but only sometimes! Some times I fr just wanna chop it all bc it can be so annoying to deal with!!

Hope (hope_7212) | 18 comments You could try out different shampoos, sometimes my hair just doesn't work with the shampoo I was using for literally no reason. So, I use what's left and then get a different one the next time you go to the store.
Dry shampoo is also a lifesaver for me!

message 17: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Next time you go to the hair salon, mention it to your stylist and see if there's a certain brand they recommend. Also if you use conditioner your whole head, instead of just your ends, gently rub it on the top part of your hair, don't use your fingers to get the conditioner all up in there. Hope that helps!

Jessica Pechmann | 55 comments hey! i’m a hair care freak! i’ve had super long hair all my life ( i cut it every year i cut 7 inches off a few months ago ) i ALSO struggled with this & this is what ive done to help. i use briogeo scalp exfoliator shampoo or a clarifying shampoo once every two weeks. i live in a very hot and humid state (FL) and this never fails to keep my hair staying fresh longer. i also double shampoo i use kristen ess. when using a conditioner, always condition from the end of your ear down. rinse your hair with cold water. when using leave in conditioner, oil , etc never put near your roots always mids to ends. clean ur pillow case more often and ofc try not to touch your hair ! the more you touch it and play with it. the oilier it gets. and i also wash my hair 2 times a week. if i can i go a week without washing but if ur hair is greasy wash it… sometimes if u wait too long all you’re doing is causing more build up which means more grease. hope this helps !

♡Haphazardly-E♡ (Elm's Version) (haphazardlye) get a cleansing shanpoo, and if your hair is short and has barely any dead ends do conditioner like once a month or never :] thats what i did and my hair is almost NEVER greesy

message 22: by Marta (new)

Marta | 5 comments A clarifying shampoo is my best advice. I have very oily hair but when I was younger it was even oilier and the only shampoo I could use to get my hair to look decent was a clarifying shampoo.

aubrey౨ৎ₊˚⊹ | 173 comments I recommend shampooing twice and only putting conditioner on your mids to ends. sometimes using too much conditioner can make your hair oily in the back if you put it near your roots

message 24: by Annette (new)

Annette Hernandez | 17 comments Apparently, more transparent shampoos work better with oily hair with more creamy ones can make the hair even oiler.
