I expected Mckenna to do the deed. Damon had already shown his resourcefulness at circumnavigating the system, so if he had lived, Mckenna would still be looking over her shoulder.
I thought McKenna would have been the one. But, it was a real gift that she didn't have to as that was something she didn't want to experience...killing someone with whom she had an emotional connection.
Like Ted Bundy, Damon had proven he could escape prison. With all of his connections, criminal and above board, and his money, hed probably do it again. He deserved death.

In the real world, I'd be worried about the vigilante type of justice, but in the story world, how else could this be once and for all over?
