In a sense, all Regency romances could be considered fantasies, because they rarely represent the historical culture. It's especially so for a book like this, where the two male lovers turn out to act like "Sensitive New Age Guys". But I usually find these charming. There is a fair amount of humor from some quirky side characters and a rather complex plot, so it's not just an excuse for sex scenes (though there are a number of them.)
This author writes queer romances of various kinds set in Regency, Victorian, and Jazz Age eras.
