This was an interesting enough thriller, but it is a book I am unlikely to even remember reading in a couple of months’ time. There was nothing wrong with this book that I could pinpoint, I just felt that it was a bit bland. The author used to be the BBC correspondent for Moscow in the 1980s before being expelled, so the details felt very realistic and convincing and no doubt captured life in Moscow at the time, but they did not make for an exciting story.
