Romance: Nicholas Sparks, Luanne Rice, Kitty Ray (A Peculiar Chemistry).Thrillers: Linwood Barclay (start with "No Time for Goodbye"), Peter Robinson, Mary Higgins Clark, Nelson DeMille, Patricia Highsmith, Michael Allegretto, Carlene Thompson (her first 6 or 7 books were outstanding).
"The Big Picture" by Douglas Kennedy ist excellent.
Romance: Lone Eagle by Danielle Steele; This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar, Et al; Villette and Jane Eyre by Charlotte BrontëThrillers: The Pale Blue Eye by Louis Bayard; The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins; any Agatha Christie book. but specifically: And Then There Were None, Crooked House, Three Act Tragedy, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
Romance: Seven Year Slip or Happy Place/Book Lovers Thriller: Pretty Girls Karin Slaughter
Romantasy: Kingdom of Villains (kind of bad, but good vibe)
For Thrillers with Romance, I recommend 2 trilogies: Killer's Mind by Mike Omer and The Vanishing Season by Joanna Schaffhausen
Note: The romance is slow-burn.
I have found the best Romance in books that do not actually fall in the Romance genre.Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry not only has one of the best romances I have ever read, it is probably also the best book I have ever read. Shogun by James Clavell has the most amazing romance I have read. Ever. It is historical fiction. Few romance novels can hold a candle to these when it comes to romance.
Can't help with the romances, but thrillers?Hit Man by Lawrence Block
Marathon Man by William Goldman
Out of Sight by Elmore Leonard
The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
Booktrovert wrote: "Romance and thrillers"i highly sugesst nothing more to tell by karen MCmanus. however be forewarned there is drinking in it just in case you arent comfortable with that. its a murder mystery thriller with romance and awsome repenstation. i loved it!
