Caraval before OUABH?

Hi!! So I bought the first two books in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series because they were on sale for kindle, but I was wondering if I should read the Caraval series before I start them?

Would you say it's absolutely necessary or it just helps understand things that happen in OUABH more?

It is not absolutely necessary to read them. I do recommend reading them just because it helps a bit better to understand some aspects of the book and some elements about the world of the book, but it is not a requirement to read them!

caraval is really better then ouabh
and it's also so much better to know jacks before his own story

It’s not really necessary because I did read ouabh before caraval and understood it and loved it just fine. But after I read caraval and then went back to reread ouabh I found my self finding references to caraval in ouabh and I think it added more to reading experience that I didn’t get the first time because of that. So I would recommend it but it’s not exactly necessary!

I would recommend reading Caraval before OUABH if you plan to read Caraval anyways. Just because OUABH spoils some of what happens in Caraval.

i say yes because you'll understand the world the story takes place in, and the main male character Jacks in OUABH appears in Caraval and the series is where his storyline begins. So if you want to grasp the full story before he meets Evangeline I'd start with Caraval.
