Mariame | 19 comments A major theme in my regional poem is struggle. It is different from a theme in your independent reading book because it talks about two friend’s life. My poem talks about the “steerage” how emigrant people were moving across the ocean suffering, struggle in the ship just to have an inhabit future desire in a new land. However, my independent reading book talk about the life of two friends in medallion, Ohio, how they become friends and turned to enemies at the end. In addition, how their life were.

Mariame - it sounds like maybe your two books aren't that different at all. In a book about two friends becoming enemy, is there no mention of struggle? It sounds like there must be some conflict and struggle betwee the two of them if their friendship ends and turns to hatred... what do you think? Am I very off?

let us know!
