My church does/participates in something called Operation Christmas Child--look it up for detailed info about it.

I'm looking for books about GENERAL, small crafts.

-They shouldn't focus on one material or even a few materials--I'd love if a variety were involved.

-the crafts need to be shippable and usable in the OCC program, so not recipes/homemade shampoos and gels/glass anything. I'd be okay if some were like that, but not half the book, you know?

-If you know a good website instead (besides Pintrest), I'd love it if you posted a link.

Thanks in advance! :)

Tesh | 66 comments Hi Raevyn, I don't actually know right now of any suitable general craft books, but something a lady from my church has done for OCC boxes is make small simple colourful zippable bags or pencilcases. There are probably online patterns, but Sew What! Bags: 18 Pattern-Free Projects You Can Customize to Fit Your Needs would have a good instructions and maybe a couple of other relevant projects. You might be able to borrow it from a library.

Aerulan | 1317 comments I can't suggest a book, since generally I prefer to look online when it comes to getting craft ideas.
But you could try http://www.craftster.org/ for a good craft site. It's a forum (a really active and big one) but there are all sort of amazing ideas to be found if you do some browsing, and lots of people post patterns and tutorials for the things they've made.

There's also craftgawker.com they curate photos of craft stuff from other sites, so you'll have to click thru to the original site on anything that looks interesting but it's another good way to browse for ideas.
