Developmental and line editor, ardent reader across genres

Hello,

I have been a Cultural and Political writer for 9 years, and a Developmental and Line Editor for 4 years. I edit across genres because that’s how I read books. During meetings to check author-editor alignments, we have often discussed our favourite books, and I look forward to doing that with you as well. For non-fiction, I think my work helps mostly because it’s bursting with curiosity. I’m invested in your story, and it can be told from the in-line comments I leave throughout the manuscript. I have a sliding rate which is based on a) how much work a manuscript needs, and b) the writer’s financial status. However, a median rate would look like USD 10 per 1,000 words. If you just want a critique, somebody to tell you if your plot is holding up, whether the narrative flows well, what could be added or changed to make it better, etc., then the median rate for that would be USD 7 per 1,000 words.
