Kindle Jenner | 332 comments So initially I was not planning on doing the tandem read for Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. The idea of reading two books from the same series simultaneously seemed insane. However, I am worried about whether or not I will really enjoy Tower of Dawn because it seems like none of my favs are in that book. I'm worried I'll just rush through it to get to the next book, so now I'm leaning toward the tandem read to make sure I get through ToD. Did anyone do the tandem read and if so would you recommend it? Are my worries even justified?

Cassidy | 347 comments I was also really stressed to do the tandem! I did not want to mark the pages in physical books to switch back and forth. I ended up finding someone on tiktok who made a downloadable ebook which switched the books at the right spots. This way it just felt like reading one long book! If I hadn’t found that I would have done it separately.

I honestly loved doing it in tandem because the timeline is the same so it’s super cool to see what’s happening on each end of the world at the same time. That said, I would have enjoyed it separately too! But in my defense I like Nesryn and Chaol. You also meet a character from the past who I really loved and a whole bunch of new characters who are really interesting in my opinion!

TLDR: the tandem was fun, but I think it’s still enjoyable if you want to do it separately! EoS does end on a crazy cliffhanger tho

Sarah (adayinmymediocrelife) | 64 comments I will admit, the thought of tandem read really freaked me out but I am so glad I did! For 2 main reasons- 1) EoS ends on a cliffhanger, and I would have been so mad that I had to make it through nearly 700 more pages before that was resolved. and 2) When you are reading both stories simultaneously, you appreciate the story of Tower of Dawn more. After reading that Tower of Dawn would be boring. When you read them together it keeps the interest up. Hope that makes sense and either way happy reading!

Brittany In my opinion, the tandem read was so worth it! Like you, I feel I wouldn't have finished ToD just because the "main" characters weren't part of it. I will say I'm sooo glad I tandem read because you appreciate what's going on more & you get the shocked factors of things you never see coming! I know it seems like a lot to mark pages to swap between two books, but I found this a lot easier with e-reading them instead and just following the online guide for the tandem.

Beth :) (booksbeth) | 276 comments I thoroughly enjoyed the tandem read it was so much fun! I used a book mark to mark off when the next swap was in each book, and it was so fun. I loved it. I was initially worried about Tower of Dawn, but it ended up being one of my favourites
