Hi everyone! I go by my pen name L.L. Lily and J.P. Alder.
I currently offer two paid services: A standalone beta reading service and a bundled proofreading service. While I enjoy reading a wide range of literary works, my specialty lies in genres that resonate with the heart, mind, and imagination. I'm particularly fond of Young Adult Fiction, Contemporary Romance, Romantic Comedy, Romantic Suspense, as well as Adult Fantasy and Mystery novels that weave in romantic or comedic elements. I will no longer accept manuscripts that are excessively dark in nature—specifically, those that are overly graphic/sensual and lack substantive storytelling (i.e. stories that read like p**n and don't show character growth or a happily ever after), but I will read just about anything. Feel free to comment below to request a list of available spots or shoot me an email at Beta.Author.LLLily@gmail.com (email is my preferred mode of communication).
I. Proofreading Service + free beta, analysis, and editorial review: - Tier 1 》 0.002 per word: For manuscripts that have already gone through extensive editing, AKA manuscripts that are in the final phase of editing. - Tier 2 》 0.00316 per word: For rough drafts/manuscripts that bypass the other editing processes and focus solely on proofreading and the free beta reading services bundled with it.
What you get from both tiers (note: this is not an exhaustive list):
- An affordable proofreading service (proofreading service only): spelling, grammar, etc. - An in-depth analysis of your manuscript. - Responses to any beta questionnaire you may have on top of the 10+ pages I already have as part of my analysis. - Sensitivity reading. - Fact-checking. Note: If the manuscript touches on social and psychological issues (PTSD, self-care, self-harm, mental health, therapy, anxiety, trauma, etc.), I also offer my knowledge as a school counseling major). - Spot plot holes, text inconsistencies, and confusing/hard-to-read sentences or concepts. - Real-time reader comments: It's similar to Youtube Reactions/Commentaries, but in written format. - Writing advice/consultation: There are some instances where authors would consult me on how to improve their writing. In some cases, I create [personalized] resources to help them. - A free editorial review you can use to promote your book (ARC review). Note: assuming you didn't do extensive changes to the plot of your story. - Turnaround time is one to two weeks. For manuscripts exceeding 100,000 words, please reserve a spot for two to three weeks.

I'm in the final stage and ready to publish. What would be the cost for 99,000 words for the proofreading Service + free beta, analysis, and editorial review? In your proof reading sample are the red words meant for spelling corrections and unecessary wording? It was confusing to me. I like your honesty and take on the editing process.

Yes, words in red indicates spelling corrections or changes in the manuscript. I normally use track changes/corrections (on Google Docs which would typically be green and you have to manually accept or reject the suggestions) but the author in particular wanted the changes to be made directly on the manuscript.
