I am enjoying the alternating viewpoint which I dont always like. I think I like this one because each one gives us a little bit more background information that we didnt have before. I like both Cam and Dusty as teenagers. Cam is so reserved as an adult that it is taking a bit to relate to her.
It was frustrating to read that Cam's mom blamed her for the wedding not taking place rather them supporting her. I thought she handled being left at the alter very well.
One of the things I enjoy about Sage 's books is that her characters are friends and support each other. I like that friendship tie!
I really hope these flashbacks tell us how Gus and Cam got together. (hide spoiler)]

Oh wow Cam's parents suck!! Break up scene was quite tame to be honest. I could get why they broke up and it sounded like the right decision.

I enjoyed this. Its not my favourite of the series but it was good. I liked Dusty the best out of them both. He comes across so heartfelt and kind and Cam really let me down a bit but she still comes across well just not as good as Dusty.
Think my favourite aspect of this book were the love notes. Super sweet and so old school romance I loved that.

Chapters 1 - 7

(view spoiler)[ So far, this has been fine, but I don't understand yet why it seemed to be so popular for a while. I'm not sure how long this is going to be dragged on for, but I really don't like the superficial hate/enemies situation that happens in books, including this one. Emmy doesn't like Luke at all (but why?), and yet she finds him so attractive and there was already an almost kiss scene. Now she's conflicted because she has a crush on him, but how can that happen when she 'hates' him?

I'm interested in seeing more about her accident, and her ex is also probably going to show up. I'm hoping the usual reaction to the brother finding out isn't going to happen, but that seems to be the most common reaction.

Chapters 8 - 14

(view spoiler)[ I’m kind of bored. It doesn’t feel like anything is happening.

I understand that the first few lessons Emmy had with Luke might have shown slow progress, but that was when their relationship and interactions were changing and they were getting to know each other but it was skipped.

The side characters appear sometimes, only to show that they still exist but I want more from their interactions with Emmy and Luke.

I definitely agree. (view spoiler)[ I'm not seeing their connection either, especially because the change in their relationship supposedly happened during the lessons which were completely skipped over.

I can also see what you mean about Luke's character. I think the tragic backstory is just an excuse to stay away from Emmy so that he can talk about how he's not good enough for her, in addition to being Gus' best friend.

Chapters 15 - 21

(view spoiler)[ I really don’t like that they’re hiding the relationship because it feels like that will only lead to annoying conflicts.

The scene where Luke punches the guy at the bar was so over the top, unnecessary and it didn’t even feel like it fit into the story.

Once again Luke and Emmy spent time together, but it was just summarised and not actually shown.

I’m going to finish this book since I’m already this far in, but there isn’t anything that I like about it.

Chapter 22 - Epilogue

(view spoiler)[ I was wavering between a 2 and a 1 star because while there was nothing that I liked about this book, there also wasn't anything that I hated. However, Gus' reaction definitely made this a 1 star for me.

Was the big reaction necessary? I didn't think Gus was shown enough in this book for this reaction to make sense. Also, wasn't it because of how close Gus was with Luke that Luke became family? So how does his outburst (and insults) make sense?

Another example of what I didn't like about this book was when Luke's mother calls him. He answers the phone and then it skips to him hanging up before he summarises the call to Emmy. Why couldn't the call just have been shown?

This book wasn't for me - I either didn't like what was happening or I was bored. I'm not going to be continuing the series.

I felt for Teddy with everything that went on with her dad. I loved how Gus stepped up, even though he was nervous and out of his depth a little.
