Nik Krasno | 19850 comments So, I've broadcasted the poll to all the members. Downside - we've lost 12 members since, because ppl don't like to be bothered by messages, but on the bright side we already have 47 votes!

79 votes, 86% would elect a current head of state if given a choice btw him/her or putler! To me it proves the vast majority of people, although many are dissatisfied with their leadership, clearly differentiate btw bad and an absolute evil! Encouraging...

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8071 comments About as expected. If the other 14% move to Russia, maybe they'll share their experience. Or will they be allowed to?

J.J. Mainor | 2440 comments It's not support for Putin, but rather an indictment of Biden. One at least knows what he's doing, the other doesn't even know what century this is. If the nukes start flying, Putin won't even need to launch his because Biden will probably forget where to send ours and hit Putin's targets for him.

If instead, the choice was between Biden and Kamala, I would still rather Biden kick off and Kamala take charge. At least then we'd have someone who still has two of their brain cells.

Yes, with so many leaving russia since the invasion, if few westerners turned up, russian propaganda would seize an opportunity to make a film how the greatest -ever leader draws fans from all over the world. In it, 14% will look 99 :)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8071 comments Two brain cells doesn't inspire confidence in Kamala. Nothing she's said or done inspires confidence that she could handle the job of President. When she talks, I listen, and I come away wondering what the heck she said. It's gobbledegook.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8071 comments Nik, if Russians are leaving, where are they going?

Surely, Kamala would simply inherit Biden's handlers and toe the line accordingly.

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Many left to Georgia and Kazakhstan, those with Jewish roots opted for Israel (we had a serious uptick here), some - to Europe before it closed borders. Those who left in panic when previous mobilization was announced - just took the first available flight out in fear they’d close borders. Some of those who left - returned, unable to sustain living abroad

The most important task of a VP is NOT TO CONTRADICT POTUS. If Biden really is all over the place, Kamala has a near impossible job. Biut I gather she has entered the abortion debate in Arizona, and from what few reports have got here, she seemed to have a coherent argument. Whether you agree with her is an entirely different matter.

message 12: by J. (new)

J. Gowin | 7974 comments You probably shouldn't look too deeply into how her career got started.

message 13: by Ian (new)

Ian Miller | 1857 comments A fairly minor infringement. :-)

message 14: by J. (new)

J. Gowin | 7974 comments Yeah, she was just sleeping with a high ranking local party member who gave her a couple of jobs.

message 15: by Lizzie (new)

Lizzie | 2057 comments It wasn't a secret alliance or breaking up a family, so why does it matter? Men have power and women have been sleeping with them to get ahead for centuries. I don't see anywhere that she claims to have been taken advantage of or any allegations of sexual abuse or misconduct, unlike others.

message 16: by Ian (new)

Ian Miller | 1857 comments I am with Lizzie on her last sentence. I said it was pretty minor, and in fairness, it was hardly even an infringement.

message 17: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8071 comments That's not my problem with her. Watch this and imagine her as president negotiating with world leaders, dealing with serious world problems. She's embarassing and incompetent.

J. Gowin | 7974 comments She can sleep her way up the ladder. And when Tulsi Gabbard, a woman with an exemplary record of service, called her out on the unethical and immoral behaviors she demonstrated while in one of those "hard earned" positions, Harris and HRC smeared Gabbard as a Russian agent.

That's what galls me about people like Kamala. They are so dedicated to their own simultaneous victimhood and self-aggrandizement that anyone who calls them out on their BS must be destroyed. Especially if they can do so from a genuinely superior moral position.

Ian Miller | 1857 comments The Dems seem to have overlooked what democracy means, despite having a name that suggests democratic behaviour

message 20: by J. (new)

J. Gowin | 7974 comments No, the USA is a republic. The Dems seem to want to institute their form of democracy, so they can prove Benjamin Franklin correct.

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch."

They don't like the second part of Ben's quote.

"Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."

I wonder why the Dems keep making claims about what the Founders did and did not intend for the Second Amendment to be.

Ian Miller | 1857 comments great quote!
