2024 ToF - Schedule and Results

Thanks so much to Chrissy, Emily, and all judges for this year’s ToF.

Here’s what I loved:
-8 books was just right. I would have been overwhelmed by 16+.
-The judgments were very thoughtful and each judge took their assignment seriously (but not too seriously ;)
-Everything flowed very smoothly with the postings, from what I could tell.
-I appreciated a few spots going to books the ToB missed. Great to have the opportunity to read and discuss those!

My preference for next year would be:

Keep everything the same as this year with four spots going to ToB longlisters (skipping any books that have been in a camp or tournament discussion), and four going to books that should have been included in the ToB. All participants could submit 3-5 recommendations each for longlisters and 3-5 for missed opportunity books, then we take one vote on that collective list to choose our eight books.

But I’ll be fine with however it shakes out. Thanks again!

I agree with everything you just wrote, Lauren. It’s been really fun participating in this. I look forward to doing it again!

I’m thinking that if the long list is long enough, it wouldn’t be hard to choose 8 books just from there… but last year it was fairly short.
