Kirsten (kmcripn) Many Protestant denominations in the United States now ordain LGBT ministers and allow gay weddings in their churches. Last month, the Presbyterian Church USA changed its constitution to include same-sex marriage. But most evangelical churches remain opposed to gay marriage. To many evangelicals, the debate is rooted in their belief that the bible says same-sex relationships are a sin. But a new national movement of young evangelicals is beginning to challenge this interpretation. Using theological arguments, they are starting to change church teachings on sexual orientation.
