♡ | 157 comments i can’t read multiple books at once. i prefer focusing on one book at a time because trying to read multiple books feels too overwhelming for me😭 i’d end up being confused with all the different plots and characters. plus, i think i’d naturally end up focusing more on one book anyway, so i just prefer to keep it simple and focus on one at a time.

Amelia | 44 comments i just focus on one at a time, i find it so hard to read multiple because i just end up confused with what’s happening in both 😭

message 3: by Bode (new)

Bode | 47 comments omg when i was younger i could read like 4 at once… now there’s absolutely no way i can focus on more than one lmaooo

message 4: by Kadra (new)

Kadra (noreadingslump) | 10 comments I usually will read one book at a time if a book is so intriguing that I can’t even put it down let alone read another book. When I read multiple books is because the ones I started aren’t doing too good and I’m tryna not get into a reading slump.

message 5: by Ritah (new)

Ritah | 6 comments It depends!! Right now I’m reading multiple only bc I’m in a long series and took a break to read other books

message 6: by charlotte (new)

charlotte | 25 comments I will usually read only one at a time but sometimes I’ll read 2 if one is a more complex book (so that I can take my time with it while also keeping on track of my reading challenge)

message 7: by bless (new)

bless | 6 comments usually 2 books at a time since if i get bored of one i’ll read the other and switch again or just stick to one if it’s really good

message 8: by Tasha (new)

Tasha | 325 comments I usually like to have 2-3 bc i’m a mood reader, so it helps to have them all be different genres that way i can swap to another if im in the mood

message 9: by Amishi (new)

Amishi | 14 comments I prefer 2 at a time because it completely depends on my mood and also on the likeability of that book. If I get hooked on one of the 2 books then I stick to that book only.

message 10: by Evie (new)

Evie | 173 comments Right now I’m doing like 4 buddy reads that are fun so I’m reading a lot of books at once, but if I get really not a series (like TOG) then I just have to focus on that. But if I’m just reading fun rom coms or something, I can read up to like 5.

message 11: by Sunny (new)

Sunny Baillie | 16 comments I can read multiple books but I end up forgetting about most of them and never finish reading them lol

message 12: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Buckner (shelby_buckner) | 18 comments One at a time!!! I’ll confuse myself if I read more than one 😭 right now, I’m reading one on my own and I play the audio of a second book for my middle schoolers, which makes it hard for me to want to read more when I get home:(

message 13: by Valeria (new)

Valeria | 173 comments I can read multiple books at once, it depends on what type of book I'm reading though, when I'm reading some fantasy book, then I can't reed two book at once but with another type of book I can for sure

message 14: by Monica (new)

Monica Fox (unicorndisco) | 30 comments It depends! I can do both but I prefer to read one at a time. Lately, I’ve been reading one book and listening to another 😊

message 15: by Julia (new)

Julia | 23 comments i can read multiple books, but they have to be different genres (romance and mystery or non fiction). then i can switch books depending on my mood, if i want fluffy cute or sad or thrilling. Also helps if a book is really slow and you don't feel like it at the moment, just start another one ;)

✮demi✮ (hiatus) I prefer 2-3 but rarely does it get more than that. It all depends on which book im putting on pause or which genre.

message 17: by ambs (new)

ambs | 5 comments I've surprisingly never tried more than one book at a time, might try it though when I get to one of my longer books

message 18: by ryebreaadd (new)

ryebreaadd | 5 comments i can read multiple books at a time but they have to be different formats. so one physical and one kindle

message 19: by Sterre ✰ (new)

Sterre ✰ | 36 comments Normally I read one book at a time unless I’m reading a series. It’s nice to have a refreshment sometimes when I’m feeling a little bit bored/unmotivated

✮demi✮ (hiatus) Yeah I also agree with @ryebreaadd and @Sterre. I mainly read one book on my kindle and another or two paperback. And if im reading a long series (like more than 3 books) then i read other books along with it so that i dont get bored and too zoned into one world.

message 21: by NoSparkleStar (new)

NoSparkleStar | 76 comments I usually read multiple books, with one on my phone (don't have a kindle) and the others as paperbacks
my adhd brain is too worked up to just focus on one book

message 22: by Shanice (new)

Shanice | 2 comments For me i have a book on the kindle app on my phone and a physical one. The kindle one for when i’m on the bus or out because i’m absolutely terrified of taking my physical ones out and damaging them 😭 and then the physical one for when i’m at home and the kindle books are usually free one’s because i never spend money on ebooks unless it’s a book i really wanna read and the cover is atrocious

message 23: by bella ౨ৎ (new)

bella ౨ৎ | 199 comments i’m currently reading three books rn 😅

message 24: by jasmin (new)

jasmin | 170 comments I read a ton of books at the same time but honestly it just depends on whether I'm really enjoying the book I'm reading at the moment because when I do I just focus on one book

message 25: by leanna (new)

leanna (semi-hiatus) 🦋 | 71 comments I always focus on one book, two if I’m feeling ambitious but I can’t do more than that. I feel like plots start to overlap and I start mistaking things from other books I’m reading.

ʚ manvi°•✮•° | 108 comments main focus one book, as a substitute i keep another. that's all.

⋆ b r e z ! ⋆ | 1020 comments I’d get major anxiety if I read more than one book at a time 😭😂😂

message 28: by Zaii (new)

Zaii multiple because I read in different formats. At home I usually read my physical copies, at uni when I'm bored I read on my laptop and on my way to places I read on my phone, so I usually read 3 books at the same time

message 29: by Sharni (last edited Mar 31, 2024 01:26PM) (new)

Sharni Stein | 14 comments Yes, but only the with same author. I have just finished reading Keys to My Heart at the same time as The Book Signing. Tania Gold is my favourite author. Much prefer her than Colleen Hoover. If you are interested in rom coms with realistic situations, you can check her out.

The Book Signing
Keys to My Heart
Tania Gold

message 30: by Pauline (new)

Pauline I always read one physical book and one on my kindle

message 31: by sarah (new)

sarah | 3 comments i think if i reallyy like a book, i don't even have the time to think about any other book and i end up completing it in 2-3 days (or even in a single night lmao). for the rest, the ones that i don't feel so strongly about, i just start another one and then read what suits my mood at the time.

message 32: by Ivy☆ (new)

Ivy☆ I usually read 2 at a time
one in English and one in my mother tongue, Persian I like it cause I'm reading two different books in two different languages

anjasbeigepyeonji | 62 comments i'm reading just one rn, sometimes 2, it depens :)

message 34: by druid reads (new)

druid reads | 11 comments huge mood reader here!!! idk how i do it but i read so many different things at once (blame it on the adhd) but i am not a quitter and will always finish a book 😳

message 35: by Prisha (new)

Prisha J | 84 comments Mood reader as well-- depends if I want some crime, cute fluff, or smth spicy.

message 36: by Mac (new)

Mac | 87 comments i read multiple books at once. it really helps me achieve my reading goal.
i also make sure the books i am currently reading are completely different from each other, so i dont get confused with the plots.

i cant focus on one book.

message 37: by sophia (new)

sophia | 10 comments At most, I’m reading 2 books at a time; 1 I’m reading in school (not for a class but when I want to read at school) and 1 I read in my free time at home and on the weekends. I often read one book at a time though

message 38: by kat (new)

kat (on hiatus for...?) | 38 comments i'm reading more at a time, bevause sometimes i get bored with one then start another and when i miss the old characters i go back to the first one and so on hahha- though i have many books that are kinda dnf but i don't want to give them up T-T

message 39: by Ayelet (new)

Ayelet Ben-Sira | 15 comments unfortunately mostly two books at a time....one is to pass the time because it's an easy and fun read and the other is always more complex and it takes me a couple of weeks to finish and get through

message 40: by Skye (new)

Skye | 55 comments It all depends!! currently reading multiple books bc I had to get out of a book slump lol, but I'm now diluting it to just one!!

message 41: by Ryebread (new)

Ryebread | 68 comments Multiple. Even if I try not to.

~lizzy~ {inactive} | 68 comments i always read multiple books at once, even though i love the feeling of devoting my time to just one, i always end up reading at least three at the same time 😭🤍

message 43: by valerie🫐 (new)

valerie🫐 i’ll mix up the plots if i read more than one at a time 😭😭

message 44: by Doroti (new)

Doroti | 36 comments I read 1 or 2 at a time but they must be a different genre when reading 2!!!!

Kelsey (Bucky's version) I read too many books all at once. It works though because it'll usually be 1 or 2 re-reads and 2-3 new books so it works for me

message 46: by Emily (new)

Emily Billoch | 7 comments i prefer focusing on one book! but, i like to listen to audiobooks while working or doing stuff around my house. also, it helps if the books i'm listening to are different genres. for example, right now I am physically reading A Court of Silver Flames and listening to The Fine Print.

message 47: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahguywebber) | 4 comments i usually read a couple books at a time to keep things spicy! There's just so many books i want to read and never enough time
