SOLVED. Juvenile/YA Mystery book about an Author that goes missing after last being seen in a tree.

I read an Excerpt from this book on the ACT(2024), i don't remember the title (obviously) but i think it was something like: "blank" to go missing.

A man comes out of *a meeting* to find a woman sitting in a tree, when he asks if she needs help she says no, later in the book a different woman (who is a publisher or editor) gets an email asking if she knows that her author was found sitting in a tree & was never seen again.

Other Details

The second woman mentioned, also watches a news report asking if anyone has any information about her mom, and gets annoyed when they call her mom african because her mom left africa at a young age & doesn't consider herself african.
