Amnesia is one of my preferred trope and so I thought the premise of this novel to be rather interesting. Unfortunately, I was trying to avoid anything contemporary and half of this book (the flashbacks) smacks of contemporary so I didn't enjoy it very much. The mystery as to how he got to where he is now is somewhat interesting but I really wasn't that keen to hear his story which is more of a contemporary feel along with the modern teenage angst, family and friendship issues. Then I feel the ending rather a let down though not sure how I wanted it to end... It's just my weird mood or I may have enjoyed this story a lot more.
