how many books do you find yourself reading at once?

i try not to start too many books at once but sometimes i get bored or a bit busy and find myself jumping from reading one thing to another to listening to an audiobook and i realize i’ve dug myself into the hole of reading multiple books at once. 3 books at a time is my limit for being able to remember and comprehend each individual story. it’s a bit of a guilty habit of mine, i feel like im not giving each book the respect and time it deserves, even if i know i’ll finish them eventually. does anyone else do this, and do you also feel this way?

Downstairs I'm reading a Rick Steves travel guide on Normandy, followed by a Rick Steves travel guide on Brittany.Upstairs I read in my lunch breaks "Message in a Bottle" by Nicholas Sparks.
Before I fall asleep I continue rereading "Where are you?" by Mary Higgins Calrk which I started in January, but never finished.
And later this morning at the dermatologist I'll continue reading a thriller by Clare Francis.
Same thing here. I get bored easily too, which is why I start another book really quickly. I currently have 9 books on my "currently reading" list, but I'm usually actively reading 2 or 3 books at a time.
I can only read one at a time! once I start one I have to finish it, unless it's rubbish, then I'll bail on it and start a new one haha.

Typically four or five. Usually only two are being actively read. The others are perused when time and inclination permit.
I should stick to 3-4 but I'm up to 8 at the moment. Two of those eight I've not picked up in a while.
I tend to have 4, based on where I am. I have a book at the table for breakfast/lunch reading, my Kindle book for anywhere not at home, one at my desk for after dinner, between meals and something in the "Room of Necessity".Right now I have three others for when I need a break from more serious reading, but 2, I have not touched in several weeks and 1, I am kinda forcing along.
Typically 3, even if I have several others started. I might not be in the mood for something and will start something else. I generally finish 2 or 3 within a day of each other.
at the time it is just one because I have so many things going on currently...
I can read 2 but they have to be different genres.

Only 1 book most of the time. Occasionally 2 but that's when I'm struggling to get through a book. Like right now I'm struggling to get through The Maze Runner, so when I read a chapter I reward myself by reading some of Stephen King's IT (a book/story I know I like)

At any given time I have 2 books in the "Reading" cue. I select two unrelated novels to avoid confusion. The two are usually comprised of books the same length or maybe one long and then I will read a series of short novels while chipping away at the 600 pager I am reading. This works for me.

Never more than two and one always takes over the other on time so I end up fishing g one book much much later than expected.
2 to 3 books. That's usually because I can't finish a non fiction book at one go, so alternate between fiction and non fiction when I get bored or overwhelmed.
currently reading Powerless and Dance with the Fae Prince...both start to bore me. maybe I need something easy to read...something typical. any recs?
It varies by the books and circumstances. I've got a few that I marked as not to read because of theme, writing style or my mood. Mostly though I'll pick up an interesting looking book and add it to my stack, reading each a few chapters at a time. if I have more than 3 or 4 I feel like I'm losing control.

Usually 2 - one audiobook and one ebook or physical book, sometimes i have one of each, because I read the ebooks on my phone.

I’m a mood reader. I’m currently reading 9 books lol, and I have 2 or 3 additional books that I haven’t touched in a few months since I haven’t been in the mood to read them again yet 🤦🏼♀️ Which is crazy! Because they’re so good!
