[Closed] Is Flickr acceptable for shared images?

I had thought that due to their copyright restrictions flickr functioned like social media and we could not use images supplied in that manner by GR users. But I don't know much about these things.
A site user has questioned this and I would like to make sure one way or the other.

Wikipedia describes Flickr as "an image hosting and video hosting service, as well as an online community." I would not see an issue using a photo from this site as long as the user says it's their original photo and have the correct licensing settings. Sounds like the user in your linked topic didn't have permissions set up correctly at first.
