Good book?. . Or a bad one?

Oh, the hopes I had for this book! *Dramatic Sigh* But it wasn't meant to be. I love the author's series The Selection, but this didn't have much plot or character growth. I felt bad when I got interested at the end, that's pretty much the only time something actually HAPPENS.

I read both books earlier this year :)
The Betrothed is definitely slower in pace at first but it really picks up in the second book. The characters (the protagonist in particular) are not really relatable. I did find that some of the plot points were really random, especially in the second book, because the author seems to make up for the slow pace of the entire book right at the end of both books. Whether its a good or bad book is a very good question. If you are looking for a easy fantasy romance read with a few emotional ups and downs it is worth checking out.

I personally prefered this duology (The Betrothed and The Betrayed) to the Selection Series, I just found the plot a little more interesting and more "Fantasy-like", as it is set in a different world and just has a different feel to the Selection Series. I also prefer more medieval-vibey books to dystopian novels, but that is personal preference. I definitely prefered The Betrayed to The Betrothed, as there is more plot and less drama. Overall I found it a fun and fast-paced read (at least The Betrayed).
