Blood is survival for seventeen-year-old Bly, who lives in the poverty-stricken human villages caught between enemy vampire and witch kingdoms. Most of the time, vampires and witches live in uneasy truce, buying human blood for their food and spells. But for two weeks a year, the ceasefire dissolves, and they hold the Revenant Games.

Any human can play in the games for either the witches or the vampires. Alongside life-changing riches, the witches will raise one person from the dead for whoever captures the highest-ranking vampire. In turn, the vampires offer immortality to whoever captures the most powerful witch. For most humans, the games are a ticket out of poverty. For Bly, it’s a chance to get back her dead sister, Elise, and save the life of her dying best friend, Emerson.

Together, she and Emerson forge a dangerous plan to play both sides and win both resurrection for Elise and immortality for Emerson. But when the vampire they capture stirs a passion in Bly that she hasn’t felt in a long time, she’ll have to make a her sister or the boy who’s shown her there’s more to life than just survival.

Ch 1-5: (view spoiler)[I mean, them both being in the games would benefit them somewhat, but I feel horrible for Bly. The way her parents have treated her since Elise died is just heartbreaking. I'm very intrigued by these games, though, so let's see if they can get into them. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 6-10: (view spoiler)[Oh girl, I don't think he will ever see you in that way. I kind of hope that doesn't happen either, because I think the vampire likes her. I'm not saying no to that option either. But maybe, just maybe, she needs to pick herself for once since everyone basically treated her like she was nothing once her sister died. Ch 11-15: (view spoiler)[Honestly, Emerson needs to calm his shit down. I'm annoyed that he just acted like she didn't say anything when she confirmed her feelings for him. Which, I'm annoyed that she did do that but again he was being an asshole. I'm okay with her falling in love with Kerrigan, the vampire. They have way more chemistry. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 21- End (view spoiler)[ So many revelations and deaths. I fee so bad for Vincent and that his sister was brought back because of his death.

I want this series to end with magic being wiped out and everyone is just human again. I don't know that it's possible, but maybe? (hide spoiler)]
