In This Moment (Timeless, #2) by Gabrielle Meyer
In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer

Maggie inherited a gift from her time-crossing parents that allows her to live three separate lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each night she goes to sleep in one time period and wakes up in another. Until, that is, she turns twenty-one, when she will have to forfeit two of those lives--and everyone she knows in them--forever.

In 1861, Maggie is the daughter of an influential senator at the outbreak of the Civil War, navigating a capital full of Southern spies and wounded soldiers. In 1941, she is a Navy nurse, grappling with her knowledge of the future when she's asked to join a hospital ship being sent to Pearl Harbor. And in 2001, she's a brilliant young medical student, fulfilling her dream of becoming a surgeon, yet unable to use her modern skills in her other paths.

While Maggie has sworn off romance until she makes her final choice, an intriguing man tugs at her heart in each era. The mysterious British gentleman. The prickly, demanding doctor. The charming young congressman. She's drawn to each man in different ways, only complicating the impossible decision she must make, which looms ever closer.

With so much on the line, how can Maggie choose just one life to keep and the rest to lose?

Reagan I finished this book last night and really enjoyed it! This is my second time reading it through, but I still enjoyed it just as much. I can't wait for the third book!

Katrina Lybbert | 888 comments Wow, you have read it twice already. That's great. I am really enjoying it. If I don't get it done this weekend (lots of family gatherings for Easter), I should finish it next week sometime. I am only a third of the way through so far, and not sure yet which timeline I hope she chooses. We will see! This is a great series.

Reagan I hope you have a great Easter, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this book!

Katrina Lybbert | 888 comments I finished the book last night and loved it! Wow! I really enjoyed the first book with the 2 timelines, but this one had 3 timelines and it was really well done.

I was sad her time in 2001 was cut short the way it was, as she didn't get to say her goodbyes properly. So when we find out she has till she is 25 instead of 21 it is so nice she had 4 extra years to properly say goodbye to the 1941 timeline.

It must have been so hard for her to keep quiet about medical knowledge she had in the future to allow history to develop properly.

I am really looking forward to Grace and Hope's story.

Reagan It was really sad when she had to leave 2001 early. It was definitely a surprise when I found out she had four extra years in 1941.

I can't wait for Grace and Hope's story! I'm really curious how that works although I know it will be helpful for them to have someone to talk through their struggles with.
