One of my personal favorites is The Nazi Hunters by Neal Bascomb. All of Neal Bascomb's books that I've read have been amazing and super detailed and researched.
That’s what I meant anyways. Like The Hiding Place wouldn’t fall into Historical Fiction. It’s nonfiction/true history.
Some of my top ones would be The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, and two that I've read the young readers' editions of and really enjoyed are Hidden Figures and Boys in the Boat. The young reader editions are clean but I don't know about the adult versions:-)
Foxe's Book of Martyrs by John Foxe and Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand are two of my favorites.
I'll have to say that your school uses a good curriculum. The book may seem daunting at first, but it's a worthwhile read.
The Watchmaker's Daughter: The True Story of World War II Heroine Corrie ten Boom is a really good book. Highly recommend.
Elisabeth (Bets) wrote: "I started that one a while ago and then got distracted by other books 😬😂"Well, I would strongly encourage you to get back into it. It's a great book! 🙂
The Other Side of Infamy: My Journey through Pearl Harbor and the World of War is a really great first-hand account of the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack. Has great Christian themes. I would recommend it to everyone.
1776 is a well-written, comprehensive, and engaging book about the American War of Independence. Definitely recommend.
I've been reading Bomb: The Race to Build—and Steal—the World's Most Dangerous Weapon and it is a super interesting book about the race between America, Russia, and Germany to build the nuclear bomb.
I really enjoyed the memoir If You Survive by George Wilson. It's not Christian, and there is some language and a few other bits that I could do without, but it was really good! I felt like he did a good job with telling how the war was for him without glorifying it or being too graphic. It was basically my road map for writing one of my books 🫠
