Review: After having met these characters in the first books in the series, I was a bit surprised that they would be featured in this story. That said, they were a very good fit for one another in the story, and I enjoyed the initial attraction, to enemies, to lovers story. I did feel like I could see the story of how these 2 ended up together a mile away, but the twist I didn't see coming was that the author combined the two ways I thought the relationship would work into one slightly tweaked solution. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Thanks for posting the new call Sexyladi 😊

Week # 3 Option 1
16. Around the World in 80 Days
Read a book with 8 and 0 in the publication date of the book's first Kindle edition.
Bookcover: Blood of Zeus by Meredith Wild & Angel Payne
Pages: 217 pages
Qualifications: First published August 25th 2020
Dates Read: 04/27/2024 DNFed 52% mark
Review: I usually don't DNF books; I give them a chance. The pacing of Blood of Zeus is slow for a short novel of 217 pages and the first of a series. I usually enjoy books based on Greek mythology, but you don't get the back story of both main characters and I felt lost, even as a Greek it was hard to pick up the book for now. It will be a soft DNF because I don't want to enter a reading slump if I continue reading this book.

Date Read: 27 April
Rating: ****1/2
Review:
A compelling parable/mystery with a wealth of underlying themes. April is difficult and complicated but ultimately likeable. However, the ending left me with a lot of questions.

Oh I just got that as well and haven't even looked into it. Ugh, not looking forward to the change.

Now its back on my tablet I went to Goodreads app and it sent back to my original page. I hope this was a mistake and i won't see it again.😘

Qualifications: Published 10/18/2022
Rating: 3.75 stars
Date Read: 4/29/24
Review - Overall, I liked the chemistry between the 2 main characters, and liked the uniqueness of the premise. Some of the things they had to overcome became a bit too much but didn't reach the point of eye-rollingly over the top. Both Chris and Hallie were well-rounded, flawed characters who had great character arcs. It was very nice that neither MC came across as perfect and both had to do some growth to make their relationship work.

Review - Another book with great chemistry and characters that had strong character growth. Pippa was in a relationship with her high school sweetheart for years and allowed him to diminish her abilities to the point she didn't have enough faith in herself. On the other hand, Jamie, who I continually think of as Corbin because my dogs are Pippa and Corbin, is someone who doesn't want to get involved because of a failed relationship in the past where he prioritized taking care of his mom over the relationship. I very much liked the stories of both of these characters learning that they needed to make themselves a priority, that they couldn't make everyone else happy to the extent that they weren't, and that they both had the strength and ability to take care of themselves and others. Great romance, and great story overall.

Review: Whoa not sure how someone can make it mentally when something so terrible happens to people you love and know but these characters made it. Some survivors made the effort to heal and become stronger people but others won’t heal and still angry. The crazy chaos from some crazed person still out there causing pain but there’s still someone who will continue to get the killer.

Review: With every book I read by Rebecca Yarros, I am surprised that she can write in every genre, and she will always have a surprise. The truth is that I got mixed up at the start of each chapter because I didn't know if it was the real letter of Georgia's great-grandparents or the manuscript.
I am a reader who likes poignant tales of war, love, and loss The Things We Leave Unfinished. It is a novel that weaves complex characters, historical settings, and emotional depth together. I will only tell you that its enemies-to-lovers romance, World War II backdrop, and themes of family and heartbreak may resonate with you as a nuanced exploration of the human experience. As you delve into the world of Georgia and Noah, you'll find yourself immersed in a tale of love, loss, and the power of storytelling.

Review - 2 1/2 Stars
This book is more of a continuation of book one and a lot of the story was taken up by the sister to the original heroine in book one.
For me, so far these books don’t have much of a MC feel to them. I didn’t enjoy much of the story I just felt lost with the characters and the story line didn't flow.

Review: I believe in reading diversly, and a way to do it is by reading black or/and African American romance. After hearing so much praise for Only for the Week, I decided to pick it up and see what I thought.
Yes, it is a very open-door and spicy book that borders on erotica, but it also deals with family drama.
Janelle is a strong woman, but she needs someone strong who always has her back, someone like Rome.
Only for the Week is a summer vacation read, and the truth is that I traveled to Tulum through the pages. I had some trouble with Amerie and Arnold's relationship. It is a heat under the belt for Janelle. This book wasn't my cup of tea, but I understand people like the book, and I enjoyed Natasha Bishop's writing.

Week # 5 Option 1 - 3. The Americas
Read a book set in a country in North America or South America
Bookcover/link: Don’t Forget to Write, Sara Goodman Confino
Date Read: 4 May
Rating: *****
Review:
In Don’t Forget to Write Sara Goodman Confino paints a vivid picture of an affluent Jewish community in 1960. 20-year-old Marilyn rebels against the plan to find her a husband, and when she crashes through a stained glass window while snogging the rabbi's son, she's sent to spend the summer with her great-aunt in Philadelphia.
At its core this is a coming-of-age novel, but it sparkles because of its lovingly drawn characters and wonderful, detailed look at the era.

Review : Need more!
What a sweet and sad story but I can see that some of these characters will learn something about themselves. If course being in a small island where everyone will a lot of your secrets of your business will be something that Robyn will need to understand but I think she'll be find with it. Especially when she's trying to find her new self and she might have found something she is good at. Can't wait to see what happens next.
