Hi everyone! Thought you could help. I work at a hospital, so I don’t have as much time for reading as I’d like. So I was hoping you guys could recommend some short stories, or even an anthology book of short stories. Whether it’s horror, mystery, or even a good steamy romance story, I’d be interested. Thanks for any suggestions. ☺️

I'm not sure if it's actually out yet because I read an advanced copy and can't remember the pub date, but Your Shadow Half Remains was fun horror novella. And if you like sci-fi, maybe A Psalm for the Wild-Built and its sequel?
short short read? i just finished a poem collection called "gay girl prayers". i loved it (it contains my favorite concept marriage - queer sex/love and religion)
I highly recommend Eyes Guts Throat Bones, collection of queer horror short stories but so much more as well.
Currently reading The Stillwater Girls Its pretty short. 273 pages. I am half way through almost and just started yesterday evening.
Thank you Rosie. Great suggestion.I have The Stillwater Girls on my list already. Let me know what you think. I was thinking of reading it next 🙂
This is how you lose the time war - Max Gladstone. Short sci-fi lgbtq romance read. Sapphic / time travel .. one of the best books I’ve ever read :)
Hey Michael, good on you for that life-saving. I just finished The Empress of Salt and Fortune and really enjoyed it, it's pretty short, and it's a series.
i recently enjoyed bloodchild by octavia butler... its a wild ride that asks important questions... you should be done with it in 30 minutes.
I always quite liked reading plays when I have only a little time for reading, you can usually read them in an afternoon or two. I especially love Arthur Miller's The Crucible - I got to see it on the stage a few years ago too! It's a play I want to return to soon, it's just over 100 pages I think, but it's a fascinating period drama on the Salem witch trials, with detailed research, characters based on real-life people, with a specific focus on how we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Also The Little Prince! Maybe you've already read it, it seems like everyone has read it before me lol, but that's a very comforting short read. Depending on your edition of it, it should also have illustrations that help bring the worlds of the story to life. :)
