m (rideaclowngirl) | 9 comments hello! i've entered a massive reading slump and not even listening to audiobooks is helping 😭 anyone has good indications of books to get out of slumps??? thank you 💜

your morbid obsession (yourmorbidobsession) | 7 comments Try reading short stories(I love Edgar Alan Poe), they are always a lovely break from full sized books, and help get distracted. Don’t stress too much about it, it causes the slump to worsen(in my opinion)

David Putnam (davidputnam) | 23 comments I don't know you favorite genre. What I do is fall back on the best well-written books: Writers and Lovers, The Painter by Peter Heller, In Five Years by Rebecca Serle, Montana 1948, and Thieves of the City.
All of them killer books.

BlueJay ♡ | 18 comments I recommend reading The murder game! It's by Carrie Doyle, and I personally think it was a very fast paced book! I hope you enjoy it if you read it!

Lori | 1 comments When I hit those reading slumps I just go with it. Everyone gets bored of doing the same thing day after day. I stare longingly and lovingly at my books and know that I will get back to them. Those are actually the times I get other projects done. Peace be with you!

Kassidy | 1 comments I went through a serious reading slump last year and honestly what got me through it was picking up books that I would never have thought of reading before. I did a lot of random giveaways and won, grabbed random books from the library and made myself start reading them (even if they didn’t look too interesting to me). I fell in love with some and loathed some but it got me out of the slump and helped me get out of reading the same types of books all the time.

If that doesn’t work, try re-reading some childhood favorites! They’re typically quick, easy reads and all the nostalgia feels will help bring you back into reading. I’m currently doing this now and it has been great!

becs | 178 comments you are not alone!! i read books back to back, like 7 in a row lol and now i have not touched my books in like a month!! and this is the first time i've been on goodreads in awhile too. then 2 of my fav book series/authors released new books and i just have not felt inspired enough to touch them. Until today!!! i think what my problem is i try to rush myself to finish books and i just end up overwhelmed and annoyed with myself. in reality, im a slow reader and i dont typically read a lot but i do enjoy a good book here and there! on top of that, ive also been pursuing learning a new language so just dont be too hard on yourself, but sometimes its good to give yourself a little push back into whats good for you

Callista | 17 comments Sometimes I listen to audiobooks because they don't require me to use the brain power to read. Which is honestly really nice when I'm tired from a reading slump.
