David (youngtrek) | 25 comments I have a question regarding the Comments we can leave to go along with our Reading Progress updates. I use the GoodReads app most of the time and am constantly updating my reading status each day on the books I’m reading (either by the page number or percentage).

In the cases of short story collections or comic book collected editions, I will often add a note in the “How’s the book?” open field in the Reading Progress saying something like, “Read Action Comics #35 and 36.”

These notes get saved and are later visible *except for* the ones I leave in my final Reading Progress update, the ones where I write a note and the click on “I’ve finished this book!” It doesn’t seem to actually save the notes. When I go back and look at my reading activity history, that last Reading Progress just says “You finished this book.”

Is there a different way I’m supposed to be doing it so that it actually records that last note when I’m finishing reading a book? The only thing I can think of is to put a page number one short of the last page with my note in one Reading Progress update and then do a second one where I click on the “I’ve finished this book”. But that seems convoluted, and I won’t always remember to do that. Is there a better method?

Also, is there a way (on either the mobile app or the desktop website version) for me to edit the already posted last Reading Progress updates on books marked finished (to add the notes I originally meant to go in those last updates)? I was just going over where it shows my activity history on completed books on the desktop version but I didn’t see any way to edit them. I had gone back and reposted my notes as Comments on the last Reading Progress updates (but the comments don’t appear anywhere in my Activity History (other than in the app if I click on that last Reading Progress entry saying that I’d finished the book, taking me to a screen where my comments are; but I don’t see being able to do even that on the desktop version).
