Nelda Who are the people in this book who want impossible things? What are the impossible things they want? What was the solution? I began wondering about the title and how the plot or some of the characters reveal these impossible things. Any ideas out there?

Pam Schwartz It's a memoir so the characters are based on real people. The impossible thing they want is for their friend to live. These things seem pretty obvious if you've read the book....

Nelda Yes! The main character and others certainly wanted life and not death for their friend! It's the main impossible thing of the book and the author's own fictional telling of her friend's life and death and how it affects all. I also thought the friend (can't remember names since it's been so long) wanted impossible things from her husband--to be who she wanted him to be and not always who he really was. The book also made me think of all the impossible things I want out of life. Maybe I need to relax (a bit like that husband) and just let things be...well, sometimes, ha! Thanks for the comments as you're so spot on!
