A Lady's Guide to Fortune-Hunting
question
There is a distinct cast of characters in this book. Who is your favourite?

Cecy. I wish there could be a sequel focusing on Cecy with more of her internal monologue. Comments on such her views on the connivence marriage, or her discussions with Amelia or thoughts of the dresses etc as well as her elopement. I think it would be interesting to have heard Kitty’s behaviour from the viewpoint of someone who understood Kitty but also had a more classic understanding of society, as she revealed when Kitty expressed she wished “their were books of these things” when talking about etiquette before their presence at the Radcliffe’s residence. I think Cecy’s understanding would had made the book hold more of a feministic scope to the historic period, admiring her critique without care for she was certain and confident in her views. I think her knowledge and power was definitely undermined, and I think she is more like Kitty than she cares to admit.
