Christine Mathieu | 948 comments Since the 1980's I got hooked up by wilderness authors and can highly recommend the autobiographies of Anne LaBastille (Woodswoman) (Adirondacks), Richard Proenneke (Alaska) and Kathrene Pinkerton (Canada).
The last good book that I've read was "AWOL on the Appalachian Trail" by David Miller which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments I like Agatha Christie, Linwood Barclay, Peter Robinson and Nelson DeMille. They all wrote page turners.

Kath (sassiekats4) | 1 comments Greg Iles often writes books with over 400 pages but once you pick one, it grabs you and won't let you go. The "Penn Cage" series aka Natchez burning is one of my favourite books/series that I've read.
One book from 1991 that I recommended to all my reader friends was called "Boys Life" by Robert McCammon - this is one of my all time favourite books that I re-read several times!
Ken Follett - Pillars of the Earth series.
