I read this book back in 1994, in a portuguese translation so I think this book is from the 1980's.

There's a young man or teenager with telepathic power that became the "brain", a girl wich can teleport, one retarded which power I can't remember.

The "brain" finds a professor that helps him understand it's powers and a crime he commited.

Can't remember more of this.
