Being a true friend means above all loyalty, unwavering support, and mutual respect– clearly shown in the relationship between Hamlet and Horatio. Horatio is Hamlet’s one true ally and stands by the tragic Prince throughout his troubles, going so far as to offer to commit suicide for him. I'm re-visiting Hamlet.
✅ Q6. Read a book where the characters have a strong friendship. We Are The Nerds: The Birth and Tumultuous Life of Reddit, the Internet's Culture Laboratory - 2018 - ⭐️⭐️

I asked Amanda in the Q&A section, if we could get 2 prompts at a time, instead of 1.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I will send you two questions in the morning. craziness is happening at home and can't get to my list right now
Amanda wrote: "I will send you two questions in the morning. craziness is happening at home and can't get to my list right now"I totally get it. Life happens for everyone. Have grace for & be kind to yourself. We appreciate your time & all you do on here, Amanda. :)
oh totally, that's why I wondered if you'd rather just post all the questions and we go through them one at a time. xxx
haha you have been one of the first teams since running this game that actually bang out the bonus tasks...so i will post a few questions/tasks for you two
Question 7: What was your favorite class and least favorite class in school?Task 7: Read a book set in a school.
Question 8: What trend do you hope makes a come back?
Task 8: Read a book published in the year your partner was born.
My favourite class in school would have been art - I loved the art class with all the paraphenalia - pencils, pen & ink, charcoal, paper, clay, shaping tools, a kiln, watercolours, glue, mosaic tiles, the lend of a polaroid camera, an enlarging projector, etc. We would sometimes go out and sketch some of the most interesting houses in the city with various architecture, or sit in the park on a nice day to work, then return to class to elaborate on our sketches. We took turns modelling as well. I loved art. I can't think of a single class I didn't like. There was never enough time to learn everything. I loved all the classes and learning as much as I could. Music, sports, languages, maths, science, theatre, Shakespeare, literature, creative writing, journalism, anthropology, etc. I loved them! Hmm well once I took a class on 'business' and found it dreadfully dull, so that would be my least favourite.
I am going to readWhiplash (2014) - Damien Chazelle A short-ish story at 118pp
A promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential.
My fave class would have also been art. Possibly influenced by my art teacher of a mother (she taught at a different school). I didn't like sports/PE at all...still don't.(Btw, Whiplash is such a great movie!)
I'm going to read:
Broken Music: A Memoir by Sting
About 283 pages.
---
A trend I hope makes a comeback is politeness in society. Opening doors for people, offering your seat to those who need it more than you, etc.
I was born in 1981.
On the 12th October, 1960 Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev famously disrupted a UN General Assembly meeting by pounding on a desk with his shoe. I was born on the same day.
I remember that day, I was 20 years old, just a little older than the Princess. I watched it on TV.My daughter Faith was born on the 20th of March 1981.
✅ Task 8: Read a book published in the year your partner was born.1960
Psycho-Cybernetics, A New Way to Get More Living Out of Life - 1960 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️
question 9: how old are you?task 9: Read 2 books , one with your age and then your partners age in page count (example if your 32 read a book with 320 or 232 )
Yes, but hate telling people my age - as Oscar Wilde said - A woman who will tell her age will tell anything! Question 8: What trend do you hope makes a come back?
Sailor collars (sailor dresses).
Task 8: Read a book published in the year your partner was born
I'm currently reading Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window (1981) - Tetsuko Kuroyanagi
Not finished yet but will definitely be 5 stars!
I'm not feeling well for reading, my head and eyes hurt - i think it's the rainy weather. Holidays are over - back to class now!
2 books based on numbers....sigh. This would be so much easier if it was based on years, or on a way to find the books to read.
I know what you mean... It took me ages to find books that I have, that fit the criteria:When Gadgets Betray Us: The Dark Side of Our Infatuation With New Technologies - 242
Worth the Risk: How to Microdose Bravery to Grow Resilience, Connect More, and Offer Yourself to the World - 263
Also because on Goodreads, the Kindle, Paperback, & Hardcover page numbers are usually all different.
Jazzy wrote: "Yes, but hate telling people my age - as Oscar Wilde said - A woman who will tell her age will tell anything! "And it's ok, you didn't have to. I just used math. :)
I can't find any books yet. I've looked through hundreds, but nothing. I might just have to read the ones i'm working on and hope something comes up in the future.
Good luck. Maybe you could just use numbers close to our ages like 41, 43, 62 or 64.Or the 2 digits of the age anywhere in the page count. Like 240, 136, 274, etc.
we could ask if we can read two with characters are in their 40s & 60s or books written in the years 1963 and 1942. I read Rebecca for popsugar as the MC was 42.I'll check for the two numbers anywhere in the page count. I'm doing so many challenges!! ahaha

Well how about a book with friends who have a 21 year age gap? (Like us).Lawrence Durrell & Henry Miller: A Private Correspondence (1963) - Lawrence Durrell & Henry Miller 400pp
Miller was born in 1891 and Durrell was born in 1921.
This will have to do as I'm going to read that one.
Well I still have to read another book, with your age in the page count. Is there another one you can read for this challenge, as well?
I've been busy with classes, but I'm still looking for another one with one of our ages in the page count - one has to come up some time! Unless you want to just read the one book?
Still working on the previous 2 books but found one with the numbers 4 and 2! I'm reading it right now, i will probably read it first before finishing the other two.Maigret et le fantome (1964) - Georges Simenon 224pp
