And of course
March 30th 1533 Henry VIII divorces his 1st wife, Catherine of Aragon.

I tried so hard to come up with a April Fools post for this thread, but couldn't come up with something that was believable. I guess I don't have the right imagination.
Here is the real one:
April 1st 1283 birth date of Ludwig IV of Baveria, Roman Catholic Bavarian emperor (1314-47).

April 2nd 1416 Ferdinand I, the Justified, king of Aragon/Sicily, dies at 52 and Alfonso V succeeds his father as king of Aragon
And while I am on an Aragon kick,
pril 2nd 1502 Arthur, English crown prince and husband of Catharina of Arag0n, dies

April 3rd 1043: King Edward the Confessor of England is crowned.
April 4th 1743: Maria Theresa, Archduchess of Austria, is crowned Queen of Bohemia.
There seem to be a few people crowned on this day... interesting... here is the list I found:
812: Charlemagne's status as Emperor is acknowledged by the Byzantine Empire.
850: Emperor Louis II is crowned in Rome.
1081: Emperor Alexius Comnenus of the Eastern Roman/Byzantine Empire is crowned.
and then...
1581: Francis Drake is knighted by Queen Elizabeth I of England.

April 12th 1605 Boris Godunov, Tsar of Russia (1598-1605), dies.
Sorry I missed a few days, but for some reason Goodreads wouldn't let me on. Actually, I could get on, but couldn't get into any of my groups.

YAY for Catherine. What a fascinating person she was.
This one has nothing to do with Royalty, but I thought it was interesting:
April 13th 0837 Best view of Halley's Comet in 2000 years
And for the Royalty one:
April 13th 1545 birth date of Elisabeth van Valois, French queen of Spain/daughter of Henri II

Hm.. Not finding anything on Royalty in this day in history. A lot happened in the U.S. throughout history on today though.
This was the only one that I could find for the 15th. April 15th 1595 Willem I's daughter of Elisabeth of Nassau marries duke Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne of Broth
And here is one for today:
April 16th 1346 King Stefanus IX of Serbia proclaims himself czar of Greece
And Aly - The titanic is "sort of" Royalty related, as there were many of America's upper crust on the boat, which are the closest thing the we have to royalty, right?

Thats pretty cool Lyn, and thanks Aly for posting the part of the Titanic, even if there was no royal connection, the sinking of the Titanic will always be a huge part of history and a great link to post here
