Would the beaches of an island work? It's an overhead shot, but you can see sandy beaches and lots of water surrounding the islands. ;)
I'm thinking OPTION 2:
- Fern Britton is this ok?OPTION 5: Summer Swing: Living the Game, Book One - Delia Delaney = SWING
Amy wrote: "Can you see the cowboy hats or boots in this cover?
"Sorry, but based on other elements in the picture and the description, those are 19th-century military boots, not cowboy boots, and they're wearing military/cavalry hats.

"Not what I had in mind, but it does fit the task description. Approved.

Both of these will work!

hi Chriscan you see her boots well-enough - they look cowboy like to me
and assuming this works for two ppl dancing:

"Definitely a cowboy hat. Approved.

"Definitely cowboy (girl?) boots, and I love the cover on the second one. Approved.
Would
work for Option 2? I would call it a cliff face with the ocean crashing against it, but wasn't sure that it was enough to count.
Amy wrote: "How's Solito for option 4? Per the metadata, it's set in El Salvador and Mexico."I just read that and it is about that journey.

I am at last at number 1 on the reserve list at the Library for the Faulks book started off at something like 60
Shelby wrote: "Would

Amy wrote: "How's Solito for option 4? Per the metadata, it's set in El Salvador and Mexico."It depends on whether the book takes place mostly in El Salvador/Mexico. I'm going to ask the mods to change the description so that the book has to be set at least 75% in the latin country. Please let me know.

Does the journey take place mostly/completely in El Salvador and Mexico?
Trish wrote: "Afternoon. Just wondered. Does this work for Option 3?

Thanks."
That is definitely a cowboy hat. Approved.

Yes, they only get to the US at the very end, and (view spoiler) but definitely they are in the other countries over 75% of the time.

Amy wrote: "How's Solito for option 4? Per the metadata, it's set in El Salvador and Mexico."After reading the other comments, it sounds like it is more than 75% in Mexico and El Salvador, so this is approved!
Trish wrote: "Cheers. I hadn't spotted how many previous posts in this thread were Longmire books!"Figures the next one in the series that I want to read does NOT have a cowboy hat on it!
Chris wrote: "Figures the next one in the series that I want to read does NOT have a cowboy hat on it!"Definitely a rarity! I do like the series - when I read the first one, after watching the first series of the TV show, I didn't expect it to be funny.

I actually haven't watched the show. I read one (out of order) for an SRC challenge and got hooked.
For me, the only way to experience Longmire is through the audiobooks narrated by George Guidall, the granddaddy of audio narrators and especially Westerns. I am afraid to watch the series because It might not match my vision of the characters.

Will you accept this for option 2 beach cover:
I took me awhile to see that there is a slight change between beach and water. I thought it was just sand at first.

Yes, I can see it. Approved.

Thanks! The target makes it hard for me to tell on my computer so I wanted to verify! :)

I'm really sorry, but it doesn't actually show a shoreline. I'm going to have to say no. I hope you can fit it in another task.

This is a two-book task. Choose 2 different options and read 1 book from each option.
Option 1: Waltz – Waltzing can feel like floating around a room to that 1-2-3, 1-2-3 rhythm. Read a book that is either #1, 2, or 3 in a series that has at least three books. The series name must be present in grayscale on the Goodreads main page. For this task only whole numbers are allowed.
Option 2: Swing – There are actually many kinds of swing dancing, including lindy hop, jitterbug, east coast swing, and west coast swing. I love both the east and west varieties, so read a book that shows a coastline on the cover. It must show a beach/shoreline and water.
Required: Post the cover
Books that would work:
Books that would not work:
Required: Post the cover.
Option 3: Country Two-Step – It’s really cool to see a dance floor full of couples moving around in a country two-step, and many of them will be sporting cowboy hats and boots. Read a book with either a cowboy hat or at least one western-style boot on the cover. I realize there are many types of cowboy hats, but I'm looking for the stereotypical cowboy hat.
Examples that would work:
Required: Post the cover
Option 4: Salsa – There are so many great Latin dances in addition to salsa – rumba, bachata, cha cha, merengue, samba. Read a book set at least 75% in Mexico, Central or South America, or Cuba, Puerto Rico, or the Dominican Republic.
Required: If not clear in the Goodreads description, state the location.
Option 5: Dance to Your Own Rhythm – Read a book with a cover that shows at least two people dancing OR that includes at least one word from the name of one of the following dances in the title (not subtitle): waltz, foxtrot, salsa, rumba, swing, jive, jitterbug, hustle, tango, mambo. Word must be exact, no variation, not even plurals or possessives.
Required: Post the cover if using the dancing couple option.
