YAY! Just make sure you put a reminder in your phone to cancel it before the 30 days. We were late cancelling Jeff's trial and they automatically charged him for a whole YEAR of Amazon Prime before we called! We might also look into the show the Last Tycoon about Hollywood in the 1930's!

Yea, they charged me $20 last time to cancel :( They also had charged me the whole year which I got refunded! Crazy!!!!
Oh man! The trial sure is nice... when you remember to cancel! We're also checking out the show Good Girls Revolt. It's about an American news magazine in the 1960's.
Oh no!!! I had to stop reading Prep - it took 2 weeks to read 60 pages and I wasn't invested in the characters! I couldn't imagine reading it for another 300 pages!!I'm hoping to read lots when I head to the Poconos this weekend for one last trip before baby arrives :-D
For my 30th birthday, my sister-in-law gifted me a 6-month subscription to Book of the Month club! I started it up this month and chose The Summer Wives!
With baby, I know you've been listening to a lot of audiobooks, but would you like to read The Luxe this fall?

I'm trying my hardest to finish up the book 'Piece of Cake' which I started before Carlo was born! Once I'm done that book, I'll try and let you know so we can read The Luxe! I need a book that keeps me captivated for sure!!!
Currently on Chapter 19 of The Luxe. This series was written before Bright Young Things. In some ways, it shows. The writing isn't bad - I just wish the characters were more likable.
I thought Elizabeth was going to be a likable character. She's sort of nasty, especially to her lady's maid/old friend.
I couldn't get past the unlikable characters in The Luxe. As a reader, I need to be able to identify with or at least respect a character or two. Also, the book seemed rather gloomy. It started with a funeral and that really set the tone for the whole story, in my opinion. Hopefully any future buddy reads will be more enjoyable!

I accidentally deleted your comment (crazy day!) but I'm so glad you love the 11/22/63 show! I'm planning to watch it after I read the book!
Kelsie wrote: "Any special Halloween reads planned? Ann Rule, maybe?"YES, Steve and I have been listening to an Ann Rule audiobook in the car since September - we probably won't finish it until our roadtrip to Ohio in November!!
I finally got an Audible account!

Yay! I'll probably get more into audiobooks once my satellite radio trial expires next week. I think I'm going to look for a witch book next, like I usually do every October!
That would be great!!! My mom, sister, and I are going to Salem this weekend so I'm really in the Halloween spirit :-D!!! Excited!

I went for one day years ago, but I'm excited to spend an entire weekend !!!! We plan on visiting some of the places from Hocus Pocus!!

I'd love to take that exact trip sometime! Are you dressing up for Halloween? My sister-in-law and I are being Hallie & Annie from the Lindsay Lohan version of the Parent Trap! Ridiculous red wigs are involved... lol.
I decided to re-watch both Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies and then re-read the 5th and final book. Goodreads says I read it back in 2011. I couldn't remember much, besides the big thing. I remember discussing the book when we met up at the Pittsburgh Zoo! That series will always hold a special place in my heart.

Just wanted to say miss you and miss chatting as much as we did in years past. I am very rusty, being out of dance for 14 years, but if I work up the nerve, I will join you sometime for Zumba. Maybe I will try to log in to LJ and catch up on your posts sometime!
I miss you too!!!!!! Somehow I feel even busier now during the pandemic and staying home than ever before??? I guess having Carlo, working, and zumba plays a part 😂 Hope you guys are well and can stay safe 🥰
