(view spoiler)[ I have to say that I'm finding this one funny. Love Frankie's quips. Frankie finds herself working for a serial killer who has 3 weeks before execution. She's on an island in Hawaii, where the heat and the humidity are stifling. In addition, some of the animal life it down right scary. She's tasked with getting the serial killers sister away from a very bad man who has had her for some time. Should get more on that in the next group of chapters as they're getting the island ready for their arrival. Loving it so far. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Frankie and Ronin found a skeleton buried on the Island. Wonder who she is, why she was there and who killed her. Plus now a storm has hit and Charlie went to visit the burial site during the storm and got hurt. He wanted Frankie to promise not to let them take him off the Island. Why is his Australian accent gone?? Wonder what his story is. Oh and Aolana doesn't want to finish the project as she doesn't like MacManus. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Wow, the Beautiful Butcher has escaped from prison and is on her way to the island where her sister and Mac have now arrived, along with two body guards. I can't get a total read on Lea but I agree with Frankie in thinking that there is something going on with her and her sister. Are some of them going to be able to get off the Island now that the pilot has been shot by her co-pilot, who is still running around with a gun?? (hide spoiler)]

I'm loving this, but I did read books 1 & 2. the mc was much more serious in those - and her ability to figure out what happened to those that were missing was really well done! I loved the first two in the series

and I like that Frankie is getting to be a little more free in this one. she's getting to goof around with this group
I'm used to her being more serious and juggling relationships, family's hurt and frustration and grumpy police.

I'm shocked this rich guy is just casually traveling around with her sister. I wonder what's going on here and if the letter is real (hide spoiler)]

I actually read this one last week on my trip and LOVED IT. I have read the others in the series and Frankie is growing on me with each book.
The setting was great. The characters were great.
I have to write my review but this one is getting 5 stars from me.

Lisa Gardner is speaking at my library this Sunday (hosted by one of our indie bookstores). I would love to go but I will not be around that day. I have read a couple of her books and really enjoyed them. I keep saying I want to read more but other books always get in the way. lol

It's a suburb of Philadelphia. It's not a big library but our local indie bookstores get some big names and then use space around town to host the talks.
