D.S. Wrights (dswrights) I've submitted the fifth try today and I am pissed.
After submitting my first revised edition to KDP they already did it. I managed after a few changes, that KDP would accept my book again. Now, all I did was change the cover and they still block and block every new edition. I didn't change anything, the guidelines weren't changes and people cannot even tell me the reason why KDP is blocking my ebook.
All they say it's because f the content.
They didn't have any trouble accepting the print via createspace.
I have no idea what to change about the content of my ebook that KDP will accept it.
All my efforts in supporting the book, making it more known are now in vain because of some stupid programme deciding that the content of my book is all of the sudden not acceptable.
I'm so damn angry right now...

Dominik Kirtaime (dmkirtaime) | 41 comments Hi DS, did you download the kindle format previewer software? I put my book through that before upload - might help. Dominik

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) how should a format previewer help when it's about the content? I'm just asking.

Dominik Kirtaime (dmkirtaime) | 41 comments The previewer software also has the guidelines etc embedded in it - maybe they have an issue with the text formatting of the content. Were their customer not able to explain precisely what the issue with the content was?

message 5: by D.S. (new) - added it

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) it's definitely the content. I know that for sure.
No, they weren't. They told me they could not get me any specifics apart from the automated mail before that the content was violating their guidelines.

I don't know what your book is about, but I was told that you don't flaunt X going on in the book. This means don't use certain terms in your blurb and be careful of the cover. I've known a few authors who were banned and later they made the changes. I think you need to continue to ask for details. This is what my friends had to do. They didn't get the detailed answer the first time. Also, check your book tags if you added any. I know they don't allow underage sex, incest, or bestiality. But I've seen some books on Amazon that contained those. They must have hidden it in some way. This is very sad to hear. Let's us know what happens.

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) I have, and I always get the same answer, up to the point that they tell me that no matter how much I ask the answer will stay the same!
The cover is the same as above. No nudity, no gore and it was just like that with the first revised edition.

I must have some amount of specific words that they don't accept. Changing those helped the last time, but not now.

Do you think they might assume the word beasts indicates bestiality? I am guessing here. If you changed your blurb, it might help. Is this listed as a fantasy? Science Fiction? Some genres seem to be able to get away with more than others.

how are the guidelines shown with that program?

The previewer software will not solve this problem. It's a content issue.

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) Thanks, Brina.

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) So, basically there's a defined amount of times you are allowed to use specific words. Be warned.

I never heard of such a thing. They don't count your usage of certain words. I think in your case, the word "beast" might trigger them to think its bestiality. You used that word in your blurb. I think if you could figure a way around the word and try that. I think it must be your blurb. Shorten it. Don't leave yourself open for rejection. You can also change where you place it. I read some erotica gets placed in fantasy, it slips through.

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) that's interesting, because I cannot confirm that. They have accepted my last submission, despite that word and I had never troubles with the sequel.
I think if the word beast in the blurb would have been the reason, people I had contact with would have said that, but they acted as if they had no idea, which means it must have had something to do with the program that scans the interior. But that's just my belief.
However, placing the genre "erotica" as second, seemed to have helped, among other things. I didn't change my blurb though.

It's so odd. I swear they are allowing electronics to do the job of humans. It makes no sense at all. Every time, I contact KDP, I get a different person. They need to be more clear. I find many of their answers confusing. I keep writing back until I understand what it is they are trying to say.

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) That's what I did, once. After my third email the answer was about: no one's going to give you a better answer - aka: shut up already. I believe the people there have no insight in what is happening, so I gave up trying.

Juliet Aharoni (juliet_aharoniyahoocom) | 59 comments Hi DM,
Why don't you get CreateSpace to do all that for you. They are good at doing what is necessary ro get your book on KDP.
Juliet

D.S. Wrights (dswrights) I never had trouble with Createspace, but they blocked the book despite that I submitted it over Createspace.
