QUESTION re: 1.3 BUZZWORDRead a book with a CHARACTER'S NAME in the Title.
Your examples show FULL names (first and last). Does a book with only a first name count? e.g. Alice I Have Been
How about only a last name? e.g. The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries
2.4 #2. INCLUSION - read a book published by an imprint dedicated to inclusive voices in publishing. You can use this link to help you get started, if you like: https://www.ibpa-online.org/page/dei-....... Include the publisher and what they specialize in with your book.I'm not quite sure what it is I'm supposed to do. The site has book suggestions in their Benjamin Franklin Award section, but beyond that I'm not sure about what to do.
What is an imprint? Maybe that will help me find a direction.

Technically, most of what we see are not the actual publishers (eg., HarperCollins), but are a subdivision focused on publishing certain types of books (eg. Amistad Books, which published books by and about Black people). The books listed in the resources section of the link will show you some of those imprints. This link may also help: https://www.libraryjournal.com/story/...
It doesn't matter what kind of diversity or inclusion it is, just that it is dedicated, in part or in whole, to providing a publishing voice for authors from under-represented communities. Does that help?

That is perfectly fine

I'm a college graduate for heaven's sake!
Pat - re: 3.1 and 3.21. In the map used - are there 4 or 5 regions - ie is Alaska & Hawaii separate or part of West?
2. Since there are not 6 regions - to get bonus point, authors just have to be in a different state than was used in 3.1?
Pat - 3.1 and 3.2 the link for regions does not seem to be working any more or at least not for me. I found some other maps but they have various different regions and I'm not sure what the one you posted had. Is there a different link we should use?
Your original post is still up and the link there is still working. I plan on leaving up. We're OK
Diana, can you remember the name of the site where we could paste an image of a book, and it would give you the percentages of each color in the image?
Diana S wrote: "Your original post is still up and the link there is still working. I plan on leaving up. We're OK"I just tried it, and it doesn't work for me--comes up with a 403 error, site not found.

Thank you so much! Somehow I lost that link and never could find it again!
Diana S wrote: "Did you try going to the original post - post #5? Try it . It works."Yes, at first I didn't know what you meant, but I found it, and sure enough, it works great! Thanks, Diana!
Sorry gang. I've been out of pocket for the past 10 days at a horsemanship clinic in Texas and then dealing with a long term house guest. It looks like the questions about the regions have been answered. As far as Alaska / Hawaii, if you want to include them in the West, that's ok. If you want to make them a fifth region, that's ok too.
It's the heart of the task that matters, not the pull it through a knothole.
I'm SO far behind, the leaders are passing me for a second time around the track. ::sigh::
