ABANDONED. Fairly new book -- girl ignores a phone call from a troubled girl, who goes missing. People think she killed herself. Spoilers ahead.

Ok so about two years ago I was going through a book binge.
I read so many books that I honestly can't remember half of the names.

This one I'm trying to find in particular is a YA book. I believe it to be fairly new and it was about two teen girls.

It starts off with the main girl getting a phone call from her ex-best friend but she ignores it because they hadn't talked in years and she knows this girl is nothing but trouble.
The next day the girl goes missing.
Everyone is convinced she committed suicide because she was such a troubled youth.


The main girl (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me) is convinced otherwise. She knows she isn't dead and goes out to find her

The main girl was a kinda plain jane girl where as the missing one was hard core punk kid that sang in a band.
She has several flash backs to their adventures as kids and has to accept some help from "lost girls" on and off (if I remember correctly) boyfriend

Their biggest tip on where she was was a beaten up old yellow VW beetle


SPOILER:
She later finds her in an old beat up hotel.
She had become some sort of sex worker I believe and ran because one of the teachers at her high school had gotten her pregnant. She lost the baby and was running out of money.

The main girl helps her and takes her back home and threatens the teacher.
