We have been watching the new version of Shogun on FX. I would like to read the book. However, I'm confused. How many books are in this series? I ordered Part 1 from Amazon but I also see Part 2 and also a Part 3. I thought it was just one book.

Shogun is one book but goodreads has a part 1 and part 2 listing, as well as one for the entire book. It is almost 1,200 pages long in length so that could be the reason for the split. If you go the audiobook route, that too is split into two parts.

Thank you for the information.
The latest paperback versions are Part 1 and Part 2 - that's how it got listed this way. Originally, "Shogun" was a 1-volume book, in both hardcover and paperback. I had the 1-volume paperback when I first read it fall of 1980, when they made the first TV "Shogun."I also see 2-volume hardback versions on eBay and Amazon, for very high prices (probably because the FX hit). Those may be some Book of the Month Club or similar version.
