For comments and discussion of Chapters 1-10 (up to the point where Amanda acquires Joseph) without spoiler tags for those chapters. Please use them as usual for mention of plot points occurring after this, or for other books.

What do you think of it so far? Which edition are you reading / listening to?

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ I've already finished!

My copy is Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer

I guess this could be Hester?

I would think I have read this one at least 40 times.

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4143 comments I have the same cover paperback, but I prefer to listen to Heyer audiobooks for rereads- when I get my Audible credit in a few days, I’ll get started listening! This one should be entertaining with a good narrator. I think this will be my third or fourth read.

Susan in Perthshire (susanageofaquarius) | 1448 comments I’m reading it on Kindle (on my iPad) and I have a rather pretty young woman wearing a lovely, patterned dress. As I always read an ebook, I tend not to notice covers anymore. I’ve read this one several times but it’s not a top favourite. Looking forward to the discussion.

I love this bit: Amanda has just been introduced to the Theale family and
... Lord Widmore was moved to adjust his neckcloth, throwing out his narrow chest a little. However, as he caught his wife's fulminating eye at that moment, he was speedily recalled to a sense of his position, and altered a somewhat fatuous smile to a frown.
It always makes me laugh: it punctures Lord Widmore so perfectly. He thinks he's such a patriarch, but a smile from Amanda and a glare from Lady Widmore cut him down to size in a matter of seconds.
