M.H. Elrich (mhelrichbooks) | 53 comments 1. In Dare, I absolutely loved Brandi! She's super sweet and how she convinces Lieth-eek! And Lieth breaks my heart.
2. King Respen is the worst!
3. Nothing. I love this book.
4. The ending made me want to read the entire series the first time I read it.
5. This book is such a compelling Christian Fantasy!

Mary Emma Sivils | 638 comments 1. Who was your favorite character?

Definitely Leith. I found his struggles and situation to be very compelling!

2. Who was your least favorite character?

Vane. That dude just made everything complicated.

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be?

I'd either make the story take place in a real world setting, or I'd take out the Biblical references. I just never felt like all the discussions about the Bible blended very well with the fantasy world.

4. What did you think of the ending?

I liked it! The ending set things up nicely for the next book!

5. What was your overall opinion?

Dare is an enjoyable book with characters that I can root for, and with valuable messages woven into the story.

Emily Reed 1. Who was your favorite character? Definitely Brandi or Leith

2. Who was your least favorite character? Vane! He gave me the creeps!

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? I wouldn't change anything! Everything was stunning.

4. What did you think of the ending? (spoiler tags, please!) I think it was a good ending! It wasn't a major cliffhanger, but it also makes you want to read the next book!

5. What was your overall opinion? It was good! It took me a little to get into it, but when I did get into it I really enjoyed it!

1. Who was your favorite character?
Leith 💚

2. Who was your least favorite character?
Vane

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be?
Plot wise, nothing. But I wish the writing style was better

4. What did you think of the ending? (spoiler tags, please!)
The ending was amazing. The story really picked up for the last 50 pages

5. What was your overall opinion?
A decent book. I think the writing style could have used a LOT of work and layering. It was so bland. The characters were so plain as well, and I wish there was more character and world development

i read this book (and the rest) about 5 times, havent this month but i wanna jump in hehehe

1. Brandi (she reminds me a lot of my close younger friends) orrr Kayleigh (reminds me more of me)
2. Ngl King Reevan. He just ticked me off until like the end of the series or ofc Vane
3. Nothing honestly. It was a good mix of humor, romance, action, etc. The plot was amazing, the character development, agh i need to reread it again...maybe the covers. The covers look like really bad video game graphics. I actually almost didnt buy em cuz of the covers XD Im so glad i got em though
4. Absolutely freaking amazing. I also loved her book of extra stories that included backstories and future stories. It just tied everything together and was so so so good!
5. Absolutely awesome bro. It was descriptive, great plot, great characters that made you either hate em or love em, the Bible references were great, it was just agh perfection man.

✧Bella✧ | 6773 comments The covers, YES. I was going to say that I disagreed with some of the doctrine whenever I got to answering these questions (I was thinking I'd wait until I finish re-reading it), but... I may have to borrow your answer. :) The ones with Martyn are particularly bad.

Funny—I didn’t love the book, but I thought the Christian elements were on target.🤭

Yeah, it's just a few things that I thought were a little confusing, and, well, I felt like Leith's conversion could have been done better, but I do know from experience that those are hard to write, especially with assassins. :) However, my biggest issue, belief-wise, doesn't come until book three, but I know a lot of people disagree with me about it, anyway, so yeah.

✧Bella✧ | 6773 comments 1. Who was your favorite character?
In this book, Leith. In the whole series, probably Martyn.

2. Who was your least favorite character?
I think I'll have to go with Vane.

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be?
Maybe make Shad's explanation of redemption a little less confusing or change Leith's conversion somewhat. Although I know from experience how hard those are to write. Also, this has nothing to do with the story, but it could've used another round or two of editing.

4. What did you think of the ending? (spoiler tags, please!)
It made me almost immediately buy the next two books the first time I read it, so I think that explains my thoughts on that. :)

5. What was your overall opinion?
It's not a perfect book, and like I said, it could use a little more editing, but I still love it, and it's still five stars for me. The Blades of Acktar is my favorite Christian fiction that I've ever read, and now I need to re-read the rest of the series.
