"...no one sticks with reading Leviticus unless they're really serious," is such a great quote. You know, as far as funny quotes go.
I've now read 25 chapters and am torn between reading more and reading some of A Study in Drowning (the reason I didn't read more of Dare yesterday).
Emily wrote: "And it is very true lol"Exactly. I've read the book of Leviticus through from beginning to end exactly once. The first time I tried to read the whole Bible through, that was where I stopped. :)

Yess haha
Yess haha
I have to wonder what I would have thought about the Leader the first time I read the series if I hadn't been spoiled. Speaking of which, does anyone who's reading it (or just read it) for the first time have any thoughts?

Sameee
These are my fav quotes from Dare:
1. ‘Don’t discount your bravery… It takes more courage to help someone who doesn’t deserve it than someone who does.’
2. ‘God’s choice isn’t based on our actions. We’re all completely evil. God chooses us because He decided in his good pleasure to love us. That love isn’t dependent on our actions or our choices. God can choose, and has chosen, anybody, no matter their past actions.
3. ‘Justice belongs to God. It’s not up to me to wrest it from His hands.’

Good quotes. :) Although, I have to admit, I thought that the explanation Shad gave Leith about God choosing people could be a little confusing. Although I guess anyone who reads the series is probably already a Christian, anyway.
One of my other favorite quotes: "Since God is God, He is in control. Since He is good, everything He does is good, including His control. Since He loves His people, He controls everything that happens for their good. It's as simple and as hard as that."

Yeah true

Omg yesss
I was trying to find that quote and couldn’t find it anywhere!
But I was trying to explain it to my sis the other day

It's so good, isn't it? I've realized that, while Shad may not be my favorite character, he somehow managed to get both my favorite funny quote and my favorite serious quote in this book. So, congratulations, Shad. :)
Mine too, at least in this book. In the whole series, it MIGHT still be Leith, but I think he's probably second. I guess I'll have to re-read the rest of the series to see. ;)
Ooh, reallyyy?
Hmmm, I guess I’ll have to finish this series to form a proper opinion. The first book doesn’t really give us that much of an insight on Martyn, but I’m sure his character develops later on in the series

Martyn is the best. Tbh, I've loved him since the first time I read Dare. Not quite sure why. But yes his character does get a lot of development, otherwise, he wouldn't be my fave, even if I did already like him.
Maybe we should have a Blades of Acktar discussion thread, since several people will probably want to continue the series. I know I do, and I've already read it lol.
Emily wrote: "My favorite characters were Leith and Brandi!"Yeah, Leith is my favorite in Dare, and I love Brandi too.
