✨sophie✨ I buy most book, unless I go to the library and see something that makes me need to read it. Also, most standalone and book series I’ve already started in a library I don’t buy

Tarynla☾ | 80 comments I love buying books. To me nothing beats holding a new book or a new book smell. But it gets so expensive and in this economy especially where I live (Hawaii) the cost of living is so expensive and with limited living space, times are hard. So reading ebooks are the best option for me but if I have a little extra cash and I really love the author, series, or book I'll definitely pick up a copy. Plus I like to tell myself buying books helps the publishers stay in business and support authors to keep writing.

Shanna (shanna79) | 15 comments I get most of my books from the library. Try not to spend money on books, but I’m just cheap.

magical_mel17 | 26 comments I like to buy a lot of books in advance so I have something to read

V | 17 comments I should probably stop doing it so much 🙈

MiniMicroPup (X Liscombe) | 11 comments Ebooks only if on sale or less than $5. Physical books used/discounted or when the synopsis hits, because I like donating or exchanging. Library for everything else.

...Except that my library fell victim to a ransomware attack and they're still trying to rebuild their IT framework so we can't borrow physical books (and the backlog on holds will be brutal when they can release them) and Libby has seasons-long wait times 😭. Investing in Everand is helping somewhat but it still hurts.

Claudio Daniel | 32 comments only if i really wanna support the author or I really like the book already, if not, I rather borrow it at the library or look for a pdf online

message 58: by Joan (new)

Joan Vincent | 12 comments I prefer the Library but I will occasionally buy a new book or used books if the library does not have it.

Ayomide Adebayo | 3 comments I used to buy a lot of books, but then I realized I only read the book once and it would sit on my shelf. Now, I simply go to the library. However, if it is a book I cannot stop talking about or I really enjoy the author then I’ll make the purchase for support and give it to someone in time.

awesome_sause_joce (cozy_coffee_reader) | 15 comments I love buying books and having them on my shelves. I tend to buy too many books though. lmao

Marion Over | 27 comments I always buy books. if we don't buy books authors can't afford to write them.

message 62: by Ryebread (new)

Ryebread I love it.

message 63: by Victoria (new)

Victoria King | 11 comments buy all of them

Mariana (Jacki’s version) I used to always be careful whenever I bought a book. Then inflation came in and made it harder :,) This Christmas I was offered a Kindle and honestly, everything changed. I read all the books I want, and if I reaaaaally like a book, I'll buy its physical copy - the special edition if I'm feeling extra.

Gee (whensunnyreads) | 8 comments If I read a book on my ipad and I like it, I'll buy a physical copy. Books are expensive now so I only want to spend my money if I absolutely love it.
