Internet seems to think #37 is one of the weakest books in the series... which makes the title ironic...

That makes sense about Rachel... And thank you for getting the rest of the threads. We are in for the whole thing!!!
Reading/Read #38, Ax's book... I was on the fence about this book for most of the book... (view spoiler)
I read The Arrival #38 too .. I felt kind of the same way. It is very disappointing that Ax's people keep letting us down. We really can't trust them at all, and now I have no idea how the kids are going to win with no real power as allies. Yes, we have Eric and his folks, but they are just a handful, and the free Hork-Bajir, who are also very few... Unless that very powerful being decides to finally intervene in the name of all the species the Yeerks have taken over, maybe forcefully separate them and find them some race that is willing to live symbiotically with them, so they leave the rest of the world alone, but if we are to judge by Visser 1 and 3, they all seem to have that imperialistic desire to conquer everything and everyone around... I really don't know what the answer could be...That was a good con the kids pulled, although I am not sure when they found the time to come up with it... Glad things worked out, but like with the squirrel cat, I feel Ax needs someone of his own kind around too ..
Choko wrote: "That makes sense about Rachel... And thank you for getting the rest of the threads. So... just started #38 The Arrival and wondering... they've never acquired or morphed a Yeerk yet, have they....

I think Cassie did?... just checked the wiki, and yea... #29, the book with the Yeerk Peace Movement and a Yeerk working with it's host willingly... Cassie became a Yeerk and entered the host for a mission...

I agree about having a structure established, so if you have to walk away the group wouldn't miss a beat .. I remember Cassie morphing a Yeerk so she could save her Yeerk friend. I really liked that book!
Ah, forgot about that... I've been expecting it to come up again... that'd be one way to sneak people in to places...Finished #38 The Arrival and it was an interesting twist... (view spoiler)
I just finished The Hidden #39 ... This was even shorter than usual. A Cassie book and hers seem to be my personal favorite. This was a nightmare scenario! (view spoiler)
The audiobook lengths have varied alot, due to all the different narrators and their reading speeds, from 2.5-3.75hrs generally...
But you're right, this might be the shortest yet... looking at the series on Audible, tho, this is the norm going forward... very rarely do the audiobooks break 3hrs anymore, and one Ax book is only 2hrs and 11 minutes...
In the past, Jake, Rachel, and Ax books have been the most likely to be short...

Finished #38 The Arrival and it was an interesting twist... While it was a bit..."
I'm not a fanfic reader (unless the fanfic gets turned into a real book and I find out later, like some Twilight/Harry Potter fanfic that took on a life of it's own (Mortal Instruments, etc)...
But with Animorphs, I'm a bit curious about some of the fanfic... there's fanfic that continues past the end of the series, and fanfic that tries to rewrite the series and make the enemies smarter, etc...

Yea, no, there isn't as far as I know... which is why I'm curious, but will probably never read them...
Same... Life is so busy, the only books I have been reading with my eyes are the Discworld and Vorkosigan... Those books are some of my most cherished possessions...
Read #39 The Hidden today... it was WILD... but also, full of inconsistencies, if you remember the lore from previous books (which the wiki reminded me of)... (view spoiler)
Read #39 The Hidden and totally didn't notice the plot holes, but now that you mention it... I still really enjoyed the moral quandary... and the horror factor... (view spoiler)Jumped straight into #40 the Other and definitely also did a double-take--wait? not an Ax book? I am constantly impressed by the ability of these books to deal with serious issues in a respectful way. (view spoiler)
I've caught up and finished The Weakness in October! And definitely agree about it being a weaker one as a whole.. Rachel was driving me crazy the whole time, but the reminder about the starfish incident helps not feel so harsh towards her.
NICE... I'm a bit ahead, having read the first November book in October, right before the end of the competition...
Read the Megamorphs #40.5 Back to Before near the end of the month. The Megamorphs books all got a lot better after the first one... they've all been really interesting looks at what might-have-beens... (view spoiler)
We never get anything again later, really... so many ghostwriters for the 2nd half of the series, so very little cross-book continuity, sadly...
