Lauren Oertel | 1399 comments Congrats, Alison! I’m traveling for work without my laptop right now, but I’m excited to check your shelves for my favorites to pick one to purchase for you when I get home. :)

Yay! Til next year. Maybe someday I will take out my paper bracket from the drawer and attempt to play here... I think I might have had a decent chance - I had Blackouts beating the zombie Bee Sting but the other side fell apart a bit.

Congrats Phyllis on your win and thank you to your hard work on this as I admire from the bleachers.

I don't think we should wait for next year to get this right because I always assumed if you predicted a correct finalist you got points..."

I think we should go ahead and figure out the best and fairest way to score this contest now and I think we should apply it retroactively to this year's contest.

Phyllis | 787 comments Alison, you won, no matter how we count. Please don’t feel as if this is some sort of Bush v Gore hanging chad decision. First off, this is all supposed to be for fun. Secondly, if folks have opinions about scoring, it would be nice if they expressed them before the competition rather than after. Can we all just move on to next year?

Mark | 11 comments I completely agree with you, Phyllis. While I, too, am bitter and angry, it is only because I was soundly beaten by a more worthy and well-read opponent. I vow to do better next year.
So, congrats, Alison!
Thank you again, Phyllis.
